Chapter 17

"Rose?" The deep voice asked again

I started hyperventilating. I closed my eyes tightly and stood up from the ground. Nathan stood up as well and cupped my face. I opened my eyes, "it's okay," he whispered. I smiled at him and wrapped my arms around him, "are you ready?" He whispered. I nodded my head and turned around.

I saw a tall bulky man with light blue eyes. He was staring at my like he's seen a ghost. Well he basically did. I'm supposed to be dead! He stepped out of the house slowly afraid to take his eyes off me. I took a step forward.

"Daddy?" I said looking at his eyes. I saw that his eyes were tearing up. I wrapped my arms around his waist and he immediately returned the gesture. I felt tears falling down my face and on to his shirt, "I'm so sorry," I whispered into his chest.

"What for? Lying to your mother and I that you were dead?!" He said pulling away from me.

"For everything!" I said a little bit louder, "I can't explain to you what happened, and I'm sorry for that. You just have to trust me that I was safe and alive,"

"Well I can see that Rose," my dad said laughing

"Henry?" I voice said from inside the house, "what's talking you so long? Who's at the door?" Suddenly I saw I tall women with red hair and dark green eyes staring at me with wide eyes.

"Hi mom," I said stepping away from my dad and stepping towards my mom.

"Rose?" She squinted her eyes, "is that my beautiful little girl?"

I felt tears streaming down my face. I didn't trust my voice so I just nodded my head at her. I didn't even take a second before I felt my mom holding me tightly to her. I wrapped my arms around her body and breathed in her toxic perfume.

She held me tightly, "mom....I.....can't breath!" I said trying to take a deep breath

"Oh, sorry," she said stepping away from me. I took a deep breath and steeped back and wrapped an arm around his waist and he did the same to me, "so you and Nathan are still together,"

"Yeah we are," I said looking at Nathan, who was already looking at me lovingly, "He helped me come back," I looked back at my parents who were looking between us.

My mom took a step towards Nathan and Nathan looked away from me and at my mom in fear. My mom lifted her hand. Nathan closed his eyes waiting for the hit, but it never came.

My mom wrapped her arms around him. Nathan eyes snapped open in shock and looked over at me. I smiled at him, he tentatively wrapped his arms around my mom.

My mom stepped away and stood next to my dad again, "thank you for bringing her back," my mom said looking at Nathan and me, "wait. Why did you even go, Rose?"

I opened and closed my mouth but nothing was coming out, "She went on a road trip with Felicia and Kaytie," Nathan said quickly.

"That's impossible we saw there bodies. Everybody thinks you guys are died," my mom countered. Nathan was about to say something when I cut him off

"We faked our deaths," I said quickly. My parents looked like they were going to be sick. Nathan gave my hand a tight squeeze and I returned the gesture, "we're so sorry. It was a spur of the moment I guess. We were never going to come back, but one night I got a call from Nathan saying that we needed to so I came back,"

"You were gone for a year," my dad said stepping closer to me, "we lost one daughter we don't need to lose another," I nodded my head and wrapped my arms around my dad

"You don't have to worry about that, I'm not going anywhere," I said. My mom came and hugged my dad and me. I grasped onto Nathan's shirt and made him a part of our group hug.

"I love you," Nathan whispered in my ear

"I love you too,"
