Chapter 6

🌹Roses POV🌹

I woke up from the sound of my alarm going off. I groaned and turned it off. I started to get off my bed when I felt somebody grab my wrist. Nathan.

"Don't leave," he said in a sleepy whisper, "you don't have school anymore, remember. You are 'dead'," I pulled away from his grasp and got out of the bed. In a flash he was standing in front of me, "I'm sorry I shouldn't have said that,"

"Yeah you shouldn't have," I pushed passed him but he grabbed my waist. I couldn't resist him any longer I turned around and kissed him. He Pulled me back over to the bed. He put his fingers under my shirt and started to lift my shirt. I moved my lips away from his mouth and to his ear, "not today," I pushed him on then bed. He started laughing.

"Come on you can't do that to a guy?!"

"Do what?" I said looking away from him. I felt him come up behind me, "making me want to tear your clothes off," he breathed into my neck.

"Yeah let's not do that," I said pushing him away and blushing.

"Hey your blushing," Nathan said coming over to me and pinching my cheeks. I laughed at him and walked away.

"Way to point out the obvious," I said walking to the bathroom. Nathan was still following me like a lost puppy. I was about to close the door whenever I felt Nathan come behind me.

"Leave Nathan," I said not looking at him, "I want to shower ALONE, besides I can't deal with your vampire hormones right now," Nathan stepped back in shock

"You know you have those vampire hormones as well," he said leaving the bathroom, "how do you keep them under control so good?" I took a step towards him.

"I don't," I said in a low whisper and pushed him out the door. I shut the door and I heard Nathan laughing outside of it.

"You'll pay for that Rose Wilsburg!" He said in a mocking tone. I got undressed and got into the shower, turned on the water and instantly my body felt like it was on fire. I screamed and leapt from the shower. I put a robe as soon as Nathan burst through the door.

"What! What's wrong?!" He said walking over to me

"Something's wrong with the water, " I said pointing over to the running water in the shower. Nathan walked over to the water and put his hand in it. He screamed and backed away from it. His hand looked like it was smoking, and it had huge, red blisters on it. He fell to the ground and I came over to him, I took his hand gently to examine it more closely.

It looked terrible, huge, bloody blisters popping everything you moved his hand. He clenched his jaw, "nightingale," Nathan said in a low whisper. I looked up at him, "what?"

"Nightingale, it was a sacred herb that the Egyptians used in crucification of their leaders. It was a myth that if you buried your leader with a hint of nightingale in the bottle then the vampires won't be able to touch this sacred ground," he said standing up for me and grabbing my hand, "and it's not so much a myth now as it was then,"

"Okay, so why would someone but Nightingale in our water supply?"

"I have no idea," Nathan said. Suddenly as If from midair I saw a piece of paper fly into the room and land on the bed. I walked past Nathan and picked it up. It said,

Sorry about our little endeavor yesterday. Jealousy is not a good thing to have, or the rage and joy you get planning your revenge. So this is mine. I put the nightingale into your water supply. And just wait until you stink so bad that the Hunters can smell you all the way from Timbuktu! Anyway hugs and kisses

I crumpled the paper up and through it to Nathan. He opened it up and read what is said. His face turned red with angry. He through the paper on the ground and looked at me.

"We should have known Lily was behind this," he said, "I hate her!"

"I know," I said walking over to him, "we all do but what are we going to do about the water?"

Nathan ran his fingers through his hair and began to walk out of the room, "put some clothes on. I think I have a plan?"

He left the room. I quickly jumped into, a white crop top with an infinity sign on it with some shorts. I did my hair in a quick ponytail and but on a headband with a bow. But on my lucky bracelet, pulled on some green vans. I looked at myself in the mirror, you know for not even trying I look good! I ran out of the room an went downstairs.

I went into the kitchen to see Nathan talking with Tyler and Ben. I looked over to see Felicia and Kautie talking by the sink. The noticed me and waved me over to them. I looked at Nathan, he looked up from the conversation he was having and gave me a smile with a wink. I smiled back at him and started blushing. I walked over to my friends,

"Where have you been?!" Felicia asked looking at me, "what do you mean, I was upstairs getting ready?" I said looking at Kaytie and Felicia. Felicia looked at Kaytie, looked turned away from Felicia and looked at me.

"Can you guys stop giving each other looks and tell me what's going on?!"

"Lilies here," Kaytie said in a whisper. I froze, I felt my fist clench up.

"Where?!" I said to Kaytie

"Don't freak out Rose,"

"FREAK OUT! WHY AREN'T ANY OF YOU FREAKING OUT!" I yelled. I felt Nathan come behind me. He put his hand in mine, but I pushed him away,

"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked turning to Nathan. He looked into my eyes, "I'm sor-,"

"No. I'm done with all of these fake I'm sorry's! I can't handle this anymore Nathan!"

"Alright then LEAVE!" Nathan yelled at me stepping forward, "because I'm sick and tired of trying to protect you, and then you getting mad at me!" I backed away from him in shock.

"Fine I will," I said walking to the door, a tear ran down my face I quickly wiped it away. I heard Kaytie and Felicia yelling to me to stop. But I just kept walking to the door, I walked out a slammed the door!

I just walked away from the house. When I was far enough away I fell to the ground and cried. I loved Nathan, and I knew he loved me. But did he? I felt a hand go onto my shoulder, I jumped at the touch, "Emma, are you okay?" I looked up and saw Brin looking down at me.

I shook my head and she helped me off the ground and held me into her arms, "Shhh, do you have anywhere to stay?"
I shook my head again and began to cry more, "hey, hey it's okay, you can stay with me don't worry," we walked to Brin's house and I felt my heart break.
