So I decided to name my chapters as well as numbering them. Just thought I'd let you guys know. Happy reading!
Nash's POV:
I woke up in an extremely uncomfortable position. I rubbed my eyes tiredly as I stretched out my stiff body. Those hospital chairs are really uncomfortable.
I scanned the room when I laid eyes on the window jumping out of my skin. There was what looked like a man in a black hoodie. I couldn't see his face though because he had this plain black mask on that he could obviously see through.
I looked at Hannah and Cam peacefully sleeping so I decided not to wake them up.
I looked back to the door but the figure was gone. I got up and walked out of the room looking left to see an empty corridor then looking right to see a shadow disappear into a private room.
I was apprehensive about following him but my suspicion took over as my feet dragged me to the door.
I placed my hand on it, gently pushing it open and peering inside. There was shelves and draws that were open and files scattered across the floor.
Whoever it was was obviously looking for something. I walked in looking around but he was gone.
There was a desk that was lit by a dim lamp. On the desk laid a file that looked as though whoever put it there wanted someone to look inside.
I walked over and picked it up. On the side read the name 'Hannah Marie Dallas'.
Why would Hannah's file be put on this desk?
I hesitated before opening it to reveal a playing card that was face down. I picked it up and turned it over but instantly dropping it when I saw the front.
It was the five of hearts
The card Hannah used to tell us that X was back. It was exactly the same one because it still had the big X that Cam drew on it at Radley when he was explaining it to us.
I stuffed the card in my pocket and put the file on a random shelf and then speedily walking out of the room and back into Hannah's.
"Hey" Cam said tiredly as he rubbed his eyes from just waking up. Hannah sat up and rubbed hers to as she stretched out.
"Are you okay?" Hannah questioned obviously noticing my shocked expression.
I just walked over to their bed sitting on the end as they both looked at me with the same confused face.
"When I woke up I saw a man in a black hoodie looking in but I couldn't see his face. I was going to wake you but you were sleeping then when I looked back he was gone. I walked out and followed him into a private room. When I got in there he was gone and Hannah's file was on a desk so I looked inside and found this"
I explained pulled out the card and throwing it onto the bed in between us.
"What the fuck" Cam shouted picking up the card looking at it.
"This is the same card from Radley" Cam announced as Hannah gripped the bed sheets.
The heart monitor was beeping increasingly fast as she started to breath heavily.
"It must have been one of Jacks workers that has taken over his role of X" she breathed in fear.
"He was here. He was actually outside this room. What if he came in? He might have gave me a drug or something. What if he injected me with something to kill me? What if-"
"Stop Hannah. You were with us. As long as your with us your safe" Cam said placing an arm around her shoulders.
"I can't go through that again" she sighed putting her head in her hands.
