***TW gore/violence, murder. I'm telling you, our babygirls are turning into little psychos🤭🤭🤭***
Aemond looked at his Baratheon bride-to-be and felt his stomach churn. Sure she was decent looking, but she wasn't...
"Prince Lucerys Velaryon!" A guard announced as the doors swung wide open, revealing the soaked little prince marching right in. The storm outside had only gotten worse judging from the trail of rain on the ground from Luke's steps.
Luke was staring straight ahead at Lord Borros, giving himself an internal pep talk.
Be brave. Be brave. Be...
The little prince's feet stopped right in their tracks when his eyes found his uncle across the room, staring right back at him. Luke's breath caught in the back of his throat at the way the one eye prince's grin darkened at him.
But Luke remembered his sister's words.
Head high. Be tough.
Strong.
Bastard or not, he was a fucking prince. He was a protector of his queen. Both of them.
"Lord Borros...I have brought you a message from my mother, the Queen." Luke's voice held so much confidence, more than he'd ever felt in his life.
"Yet earlier today I received an envoy from the king...which is it? King or Queen? The House of the Dragon does not seem to know who rules it! Ha!" Lord Borros was such a smug prick, even in the presence of two dragon riders. He stared down at Luke like a little lost puppy dog. He glanced over at the other prince, his soon to be son in-law, with curiosity. He knew the truth of their history. "What's your mother's message?"
Luke's head cocked slightly as he held up the scroll to be taken to him. He wasn't anticipating why Daena gave him advice and not Jace. Borros was an arrogant prick, he wondered if the man would allow Aemond to attack him.
The scroll remained unopened in Borros' hands and he sighed before shouting. "Where's the bloody maester?!"
Luke's spine must've been made of steel as he straightened up at that moment. He wasn't going to be intimidated by a man who couldn't read. Not one in his position at least.
Aemond's smirk only grew as he eyed his nephew eagerly, hands behind his back itching for his dagger. Luke could feel Aemond's eye on him the entire time, only making him clutch onto the pommel of his sword. The one eyed prince simply laughed to himself quietly.
Cassandra eyed her betrothed with disdain.
"Remind me...of my father's oath? King Aegon at least came with an offer! My swords and bannermen for a marriage to Prince Aemond." Lord Borros fumed, but Luke's eyes went immediately to his uncle.
His eyes widened, eyebrows furrowed and his lips slightly parted. How could he do this to her? After all he had discovered of her feelings for their uncle, and he does this? Ruins his sister, breaks her heart, and stands there with a smug smile on his face.
"Tell me, which one of my daughter's are you willing to marry...boy?" Lord Borros taunted.
"At least this one has both eyes." Lord Borros' younger daughter, Maris, mumbled under her breath just loud enough to draw slight attention.
"My lord, I am not free to marry." Luke didn't let Maris' comment bother him one bit as he kept the confidence in his voice. Now it was laced with anger.
