Chapter 23 BAMF Evan Buckley Part 2

"Ev? What's wrong." Eddie asks, and Buck turns the phone toward Eddie. Showing him the name on the screen. Carla Price...

Buck answers the call and puts it on speaker.

Trey Calle's voice comes out of the speaker. "Your move gringo." And the line goes dead.

"FUCK!" Buck yells out.

"Buck, what happened?" Athena asks, running over to him.

"He just called me from Carla's phone." Buck says.

"So, he has four of our people." Athena says.

"At least. May, Darius, Taylor, and Carla." Buck responds.

"How did you guys forget about Carla?" Athena asks.

"Things have been weird with her. With both of us being out of work, she hasn't been around much." Eddie answers so Buck doesn't have to.

"Send me Carla's information. I will see if I can track the cell." Athena says, and Eddie nods.

"Is there anyone else you can think of that he would go after?" Athena asks.

"He's psychotic, Athena. Who knows how deep he would go?"

Police sirens ring out in the distance, and Athena walks Buck, Eddie, and Cole over to the Hummer. Eddie takes the keys from Buck and throws them to Cole, and pulls Buck into the back seat with him, holding him in his arms, Karen sitting next to them, and Hen in the front with Cole.

"I will call you as soon as we are done here." Athena says to Buck and Eddie through the back window.

Cole peels out and speeds away before the authorities arrive. If Buck was careful making sure they weren't followed before, Cole is even worse. He takes detours and goes up streets the wrong way before finally deciding they are clear, and he makes his way to the new Diaz family home, pulling into and securing the garage.

They are greeted at the door leading from the garage to the living room by Bosko and Wes. They quickly funnel themselves inside and take a seat at the dining room table, which Wes has turned into his own command center. He has multiple laptops and screens displaying various locations. They brief the adults on what happened tonight.

Maddie takes Hen and Karen up to one of the guest rooms and gets them set up for the night with a place to sleep. Chim and Maddie curl up on the couch in the living room. Buck paces back and forth between the kitchen and the dining room before heading downstairs with Eddie and Bosko following him. They pass by the sleeping form of Ravi on the downstairs couch as they head toward the gym.

Buck strips his shirt off, grabs the gloves, and starts to go to town on the punching bag. He loses himself in the motions until he tires himself out and then starts to slow down, rubbing his still-healing arm.

"You going to keep going all Hulk smash, or you going to talk to us, Buckley?"

"Fuck you, Lena." Buck says.

"Hulk smash. Got it." Bosko says as she walks closer to Buck. "Let me see your arm, hotshot." He loosens his arm, relaxing it, and she checks it out for him. He doesn't react to any of her prods.

"No pain to physical stimulus." Bosko turns and says to Eddie.

"The muscle is sore." Buck says.

"Well yeah, you haven't used your arm like that in a few months." Bosko says. "But the way you reigned down on the bag makes me think you're a little more healed than I thought you were."

"He's been really careful with it. His progress has been really great." Eddie says over her shoulder.

There is a knock on the door to the gym; Eddie opens the door to Wes. "Cole went to get Athena and Bobby. He said to tell you to shower and take a deep breath."
