Chapter 20 BAMF Evan Buckley Part 1

"Holy shit!" Chim exclaims as he looks at the photo on Buck's laptop.

"Jesus, Buck, how did you get out of that?" Hen asks.

"I can't tell you, Hen. I'm not allowed to talk about it. If anyone finds out what I have already told you, I can be arrested for treason." Buck says.

Hen turns to look at Eddie, "How are you so calm, Diaz?"

"I knew whatever he kept from me had to be bad. I was expecting something like this. Well, not like this, but something." Eddie answers.

"Oh, I am going to get read the riot act later. Don't worry, Hen." Buck laughs at her.

Buck closes his laptop and stows it back in its bag. "Bobby, I know you and Athena have this "Heart To Heart" thing going on where you solve crimes together. Please trust me when I tell you that you guys are out of your league with this one."

"How much danger are we in here with this guy Buck?" Bobby asks.

"As long as you aren't on his radar, you should be fine. If he finds out you have been digging into him, we are fucked. Not just you but anyone who is close to you. He will go after all of them." Buck says, and Bobby's face drops and Eddie clocks it.

"What did you do, Bobby?" Eddie asks.

"I found out what Wendall was working on for Winding Path. I went to see if anyone there could help me. That is how I found out the couple who were at the fire were the ones who owned the clinic." Bobby says.

"So, you're on his radar." Eddie says. "That's fucking great."

"Wait, these people were at the brush fire, right?" Buck asks.

"Yes." Bobby says.

"Then there is a chance that Trey saw me there. That he knows I am in LA." Buck says.

"Buck, you were in full safety gear at that fire. He didn't get close enough to identify you." Hen says.

"Is that it?" Eddie asks, "Bobby is that everything you have done with these people?"

"That's everything Bobby has done. But May and I walked the grounds of Winding Path. We went in undercover. But if these people have the means Buck says they do, they now know who that May and I are connected to Bobby."

"Fuck!" Buck says. "This is really bad. If they made the connection, every one of us is in danger. If they look into Bobby, they will know about everyone associated with the 118. There is no way he doesn't find out about me being in LA."

"Buck, are you scared of this guy?" Chim asks.

"I'm not afraid of him in a one-on-one situation. There is a reason I am standing here. I kicked the shit out of him in a fair fight." Buck answers back.

"But it's what he is capable of that Mr. Buckley is scared of." Elaine says.

Buck looks to Eddie, and they both look to Capitan Maynard; she has said so little this entire time that they forgot she was in the room with them.

"Exactly. Plus, if he finds out I'm in LA, he is going to come after me. He doesn't like unfinished business, and since I'm still breathing, he's going to try to correct his mistake."

Athena shifts in her seat to look at Elaine, "Captain, what do we do here?"

"Mr. Buckley, how do you recommend us proceeding? I need to use the information you shared with me about the identities of the people involved. This is bigger than us. I clearly need to tread carefully." Elaine says to the group.

"We need help." Buck says.

"I know that, Mr. Buckley. But there are very few people I trust in our upper brass."
