You and Me

Both Veralee and Jacaerys walked in silence. They still were both very awkward around each other at some points and struggled with their relationship.

"so, We are seeing the library first" Veralee tried breaking the tension. She hated awkward moments because they were absolutely unbearable to her.

"yes" Jace confirmed. Silence fell between the two again. Veralee wasn't sure how she could ever make this marriage work if all there was between them was awkwardness and uncertainty.

"Here we are" Jace spoke as he sowed his pace to gesture to the grand dark oak double doors. Veralee already was shocked by seeing the door. It was huge and there were two of them, indicating it was big inside, meaning they actually had books. Jace held the door open for his wife to walk in.

Veralee took slow steps into the library as she stared at the height seeking and the rows and rows of book shelves. she twirled around looking at the magnificent architecture of the room. It was designed so grandly and had intricate paintings on it. The windows had sun light pouring through them and there were small sections in the library with a cozy lounge or places to sit and study.

"wow!" Veralee finally blurted after she stopped turning around. Her amazed gaze was still glued to the room. Jace chuckled at her reaction. He really had no idea how the libraries in Essos would be if she was gawking at the this one so much.

"come one I'll show you around" Jace nodded his head to the direction he wanted her to follow.

"This is amazing, magnificent even" Veralee adored as she followed him, her pace was very slow as she wanted to take in every moment of the library.

"Libraries in Essos were that bad. Huh" Jace showed her how the books were sorted and where to find what in the library.He gave a her Genral tour of the sections and the astronomy Center that was in the library.

"This is just magical" VeraLee was still in awe at its beauty.

"It is. the red keep has one of the best libraries in the world" Jacaerys informed.

"Well any library that isn't from Essos could easily be the best" Veralee joked.

"You wanna try using the system to find a book here" Jace asked. He wanted to ensure that she knew how to operate it because the library would be a major help to her adjusting to royal duties here.

Veralee nodded and tried to think of a book that she would want to find. Any book from her memory limited books she had read. One particular one popped into her mind. It was a book she could never forget. Veralee's face lit up, upon remembering it. She tried to remember what section she was suppose to go to. She walked around the library until she found it and and went straight for the initial 'S' section. She began to skim through books looking for the particular last name that she had memorised like the back of her hand. Her eyes went slightly wide once she found it, she crouched down to grab it from a lower shelf. She leaned on her knees as her hand picked it out from the shelf.

She ran her soft hands against the fabric cover.It was the same model as the first one she read, the spine of the book looked like it had a few rough day but the book was still pretty well intact. She began to flip through the yellow pages of the book, remembering the memories of when she first read it.

Jace kneeled down beside Veralee curious as to why she was interested in this book so much. "What book is that"

"urm. it's this fantasy book I read when I was younger, The Grand Prince and His Expeditions." Veralee smiled rubbing her hand through the book cover again. " It was me and my mother's favourite, We reread it so many times I think I can recite sections of it now"
