Turn the page,
They said.
The story cracked-Try again,
They said.
The story broke-One more time,
They pleaded.
The story shattered-
A single tear to stain the page.Close the book,
They said.
It felt undone-Put it on a shelf,
Forget about it,
They cried.
The story left forgotten-Something missing.
Something lost.
Something, she can feel it.Open the book,
Just to try,
He called to her.Lost memories,
Untold stories,
Is this what's been missing? This wont work,
They spat with venomous words.
Something toxic,
Something wrong,
Is this where she was coming from?Take my hand,
The book said.
I'll lead the way.Broken glass
And rough edges,
Fear of being cut.Walk away,
They whispered seductively.
You'll get hurt,
They hissed in pain.Smooth hands,
With rough edges.
What have you been through? It's a secret,
But I'll tell-
For you're the only one that fell.See a heart,
Pure as gold.
Even a broken book,
Can hold a beautiful story.A story,
Yet to be told.{ 2018 }
