ZAYN
Whatever was in that drink burned bad. Some of the alcohol got in my eyes and if it hadn’t been for my good reflex I would’ve gone blind by now. I fanned my face mirthlessly because well, I couldn’t do anything but that. I probably looked like a crazy person having a hernia right now with my eyes half closed and my mouth in a weird gaping structure.
“Are you okay?” I heard the bartender said.
He handed me a set of napkins which I groped for and wiped on my face. After I got most of the drink out of my face I opened my eyes to see a dozen people on the bar looking at me peculiarly.
“Thanks.” I said to the bartender and handed him a couple of bills to pay for my drinks.
“Oh, wait the lady didn’t pay for her drink.” The bartender said.
“Seriously?” I raised my eyebrows at him. If it wasn’t embarrassing enough that I got a bath from a margarita in front of Manhattan’s Elite now I had to pay for her drink too?
“Rules are rules.” The bartender shrugged expecting for the payment.
I muttered something under my breath and slid a couple more dollars across the table at him and stood quickly. I didn’t want to take anymore of this embarrassment plus my face was still sticky. I headed for the men’s bathroom. Once I got there I rinsed off my face and dried it off with some paper towels.
“Drink on the face?” A guy appeared from one of the stalls and washed his hands in the sink beside me.
“Yea.” I smiled.
“Don’t worry it doesn’t cause permanent damage.” He said smiling broadly.
I dumped the towels and nodded my head at the guy in a gesture for goodbye. This night wasn’t starting out great. I headed outside the restroom and instantly got greeted by the loudly music and a multitude of dancing people. No sign of the Cornelia Dagenham though which was good. I probably shouldn’t have said anything about her being a snob and all that. I didn’t even know what I was thinking.
“Hey! Zayn!” Niall came up beside me and put an arm around me.
“Well, you look drunk.” I said smelling the booze on his breath. Niall just laughed and ruffled my hair.
“Dude, it’s a party, everyone gets drunk.” Niall shouted over the noise.
“Cornelia Dagenham just threw her drink at me a while ago.” I said.
“I know a problem to that solution!” Niall said already dragging me to a group of people.
“What? Who are these people?” I asked.
“Just drink it off!” Niall handed me a shot which I gingerly took. What the hell right?
A COUPLE OF DRINKS LATER
The room was spinning. And I think Niall on my left was growing another pair of head. Okay, maybe I was a little bit tipsy but I could still manage.
“Whoah, are you alright?” Niall said nudging me.
“Yea, yea. I’ll go get some more drinks.” I said getting up.
Louis, Harry and Liam joined us after a while on the booth. Certain people came and go but we were all having fun although some of us had a little bit too much to drink. Harry was already dancing wildly with some random girl and Liam was already talking sluggishly. Believe it or not I was the most sober.
