Feitan and the queen were now moving so fast that you had to strain your eyes to follow them, sword and tail met at a dazzling speed, attacks and feints blending in a blur of movements, not only on the ground but high up as Fei was using the walls as well as the floor. His movements were hypnotic, everything from how the sword cut through the air, to the way his coat fanned out around him, or just how his hair moved when he changed direction seemingly in mid-air. He made it seem so effortless, giving you another glimpse of how much he'd been holding back with you.
Fei sheathed the sword into his umbrella and increased his speed even more. It reached the point where he started leaving afterimages, confusing the queen until he suddenly was standing right behind her, pointing the tip of the umbrella at her head. She was looking furious now, realizing that her own troops had been easily defeated. You imagined a smile on Feitan's face when he pushed a button on the umbrella, firing the tip like a bullet, straight at her face.
It hit her just under the eye, and she staggered backward, but the bullet had barely breached her skin.
'Why, you little... How dare you scar my beautiful face?' she shouted, losing her composure completely.
With a deranged scream, she tore her own tail off, and everybody watched in a mix of horror and disgust as a new thicker one grew out. This was but the first step in a gross transformation, as her body bulked out, grew immensely, and took on the shape of a giant, grotesquely muscled lizard. The only thing that remained from her former rather beautiful body was her long red hair, now a tousled mess, looking out of place on the broad reptilian head.
'You're dead!' she growled, as Fei disappeared from sight only to reappear on her back, sword in hand. He pointed it towards her neck and used ko to enforce the tip to penetrate her thick hide. Unfortunately, the queen's altered skin was even tougher than he'd expected, and the tip of his sword broke against it. You gasped, you knew how strong his techniques were, and that his ko would not have any effect at all was disturbing, to say the least.
Feitan of course reacted quickly, but not before the queen took a swing at him. He was still faster, so she missed, but the aura she had sent with the blow caught him while he was still unprotected after using ko. The force of her aura ripped his coat in shreds and smashed into his chest, hard enough to make him cough up blood. You winced as you tried to estimate how many of his ribs had been broken.
'My body is indestructible,' the queen bragged as he got back on his feet, tearing off the tattered remains of his coat. Feitan was still moving smoothly, but not as fast as before he was injured, but on the other hand, neither was the queen. Her new body was strong and durable, but clumsier, limiting her attacks to slow, but heavy punches that he could easily block with the remains of his broken sword.
'Shouldn't we go help him?' Kalluto asked, frowning as nobody agreed. It was a race they reminded him. If Feitan failed, someone else would take over, but not before that happened. A part of you silently agreed with Kalluto, though you could imagine just how angry Feitan would be if anybody interfered, and there was a part of you that actually enjoyed watching him fight. There was such a dark, alluring elegance to the way he moved, even now when he was injured and you really couldn't take your eyes off him.
A stray hit broke Fei's left arm with a loud crunch.
'Hey Feitan, ready to tag out? Wanna switch with Bono?' Phinks shouted, suggesting that the next person would get a chance to fight the queen.
Feitan didn't answer but stopped to spit out some more blood, his right hand clutching the broken arm tightly, and you could barely stop yourself from running to him. Phinks must have noticed because he placed a big, heavy hand on your shoulder to make sure you stayed in place.
