'Kolten.'

It just had to be Kolten. Out of all the other people who it could be, it had to be Kolten.

He was one of the leaders of the former Hunters' Inc., but she just couldn't believe that he was her father. Every bone in her body was revolting against the idea.

"Octavia, I guess that I should start at the beginning."

Kolten said as Atlas motioned him to take a seat. He watched him like a hawk.

'I don't trust this fucker.' Xandros warned, but Atlas was already two steps ahead of him. He didn't trust his story, the second he heard it. And he trusted his wolf. Dispute their differences, and you can bet your ass that they had many differences.

Atlas was a narrowed head thinker, who protected his pack the way a chess player would strategically plan his moves to ensure that she protect his strength and his weakness

...His Queen, Octavia.

And even now, she was the only reason why he hold back his wolf from splattering this man's brains on his carpet. She was his to protect and in this game, knowledge was power, and power was strength.

Usually, his wolf was an isolated, pessimistic fucker, who forced a takeover now and then he lost control. They could never agree on until...

Until Octavia.

And now it seems that they both have the same goal in mind. Protecting Octavia at all costs, no matter the sacrifice. They would gladly burn the world down to ensure that she was safe and protected.

"Well you see, I met your mother years ago and we fell in love."

That's oddly generic for a mate bond. No one would talk about their soulmate that way. They would say how they love each other at first sight, and he would have mentioned the tingles.

She could smell a faint smell coming from him. He could tell that he wasn't what she said that she was.

"So which one of you is a werewolf?"

Atlas asked as he could see the shake in his expression. He didn't know. He didn't know what anomalies to look for when identifying werewolves and thanked the Moon Goddess for that.

That is a pack doctor secret that is handed down carefully from one pack doctor to the next, and only through word of mouth. Never to be written down, because if that information falls into the wrong hands...Atlas quivered to think about what could happen.

Octavia looked at him in shock. He forgets to tell her that's one of her parents.is a werewolf, which meant that she was a half-bred, but how did she think she inherit werewolf attributes? Hopefully, it was a radioactive spider...

"Neither of us are."

Kolten said as Atlas knew that in that moment he had caught him in a lie.

"Well then, since you claim to be her father, I'm sure you wouldn't mind submitting to a DNA test, would you?"

Atlas asked as he could smell the lies and decisions coming from him.

"That would be no problem, but for now, I'm exhausted from my travels. Would you extend your hospitality to the father of your mate?"

Kolten said as Atlas smiled as he mind-linked Beta Riggs to come into the room.

"Would you please show our guests the best available room we have?"

Atlas asked-commanded as Beta Riggs looked at him. confused

'Alpha, what are you doing?/This man is a lying bastard. He's probably here to kill Octavia and you, if he can.'
