It was a Friday night and Danny was at the studio with the guys at the studio recording for the new Scratcher album. The days were long and tiring for Danny some days were 12 plus hours of redoing the same song over and over again. I had only heard from him twice in the 9 hours he had been there. I had texted their manager and told him that I would bring the guys dinner and not to allow them to order anything out that I wanted to surprise Danny.
I ordered the food for pick up around 7:30. They always ate late on studio days, I was super excited to see him since the whole week he would leave early in the morning and then would come back after I was already asleep. I threw on a pair of Danny's sweatpants and a shirt just wanting to be comfortable before grabbing my purse and heading out the door. I got into the car and started heading for the restaurant in town that I ordered from, I had my music blasting and the window down the cool air hitting my face.
It was the perfect spring evening, the sun had set and I was just enjoying the drive. I made it to town and pulled into the restaurant parking lot and ran in to pick up the food for the guys.
As I got back into the car my phone rang. I connected it through the car speaker, "hello?" I asked. "Hi mamas, we are taking a brief break for water so I figured I'd call you. How are you?" Danny asked. I smiled hearing his voice "I'm good I just picked up some dinner. I didn't feel like cooking tonight so I got something from our favorite place in town. I miss you" I said. I heard him sigh softly, "I know mamas I'm so sorry I haven't been home much. I miss you so much too" he said. "It's ok baby I get it you've gotta get the work done and you are on a timeline. I'm not mad about it" I explained. "Yeah we are a little behind schedule jake needed to change out his strings this morning and it took a bit longer than expected so it's going to be a late night again. I'll have Josh drop me off when we are done though" he said.
As I was driving my light turned green as I was driving through the intersection, out of the corner of my eye on the left I saw a car running their red light at full speed. I let out a piercing scream as the car slammed into my driver's side. "Y/n?! What the fuck was that?! HEY?! MAMAS TALK TO ME" I heard him scream before the line went dead.
The car flipped numerous times throwing me around like a rag doll. I could feel the metal of the car pressing against my side and leg. The glass of my windows exploded into me followed by the crushing blow of the airbags and I hit my head off of something losing consciousness.
Danny kept trying to call me but I wouldn't pick up he looked at the guys, "something just happened to y/n and she won't pick up. She was driving and I heard her scream followed by a loud crash then it went dead!" He was terrified looking at Josh, Jake and Sam. "Try calling her back again" Josh insisted. He tried again and I still didn't pick up.
My eyes fluttered open and I was unable to process what was happening, my car was laying on its drivers side. A police officer was looking through my cracked windshield, "Maam? MA'AM can you hear me? Hey come on, open your eyes" he said. I groaned quietly, still really out of it. "Hey ok don't move, the fire and rescue are on their way. You've gotta keep your eyes open though" he insisted.
"Danny," I mumbled semi consciously. I could hear the blaring of sirens approaching. A few seconds later I was aware of many voices, "hey, ma'am it's Frankenmuth fire department can you do me a favor and open your eyes and look at me?" The voice demanded from above me. I forced my eyes open and looked to see a fire fighter peering down at me from my passenger's side window. "Ok good, I need you to stay calm, we are going to work as quickly as possible to get you out of here alright?" The man said.
