~the next day~
Avery is at the swamp it Alice, Betty, Kevin, Sheriff Keller, and some other Serpents. They are all calling out for Polly when Hiram's vehicle speeds in front of them.
"That's far enough. Every one of you is trespassing on private property." Hiram says getting out the car with Reggie and two other men with shotguns behind him.
"Retreat immediately or face the consequences." Reggie says.
"Oh boy Reggie I would love to see the consequences." Avery says.
"Hiram, my daughter's missing. She might be somewhere in your swamp." Alice says.
"Alice, as a father, I feel your pain but I can't have people wandering through here. All of this is going to be my new turnpike." Hiram says.
"It's also a crime scene." Sheriff Keller says.
"Well if it is, it's not your jurisdiction, Sheriff." Hiram says.
"Well, I'm with the FBI. So the FBI is declaring this a crime scene." Betty says showing her badge.
"Oh, I think you're gonna need better than that badge you got out of a Jacket Crack box, Betty. In the meantime, off my property." Hiram says the men behind him including Reggie prepare the guns to shoot.
"Now." Hiram says, everyone starts walking away but Avery stays staring at Hiram.
"Avery, come on. Think about Renee." Kevin says grabbing Avery's arm.
"Your not a good father. You shouldn't deserve that title." Avery says staring into Hiram's eyes then Kevin pulls Avery away.
"They would've shot you." Kevin says as they walk away.
"He wouldn't shoot a 25 year old mother." Avery says looking at Kevin.
~A week later~
Avery is getting ready for work when Sweet Pea walks into the bedroom.
"We need to talk" Sweet Pea says.
"We do." Avery says turning around from her vanity and facing him.
"I'm sorry for volunteering for the fire department without talking to you" he says grabbing her hand.
"And I'm sorry for not talking to you about the donation to the Bulldogs" Avery says, she gets up and hugs him and he hugs back.
"I love you Avery" he says kissing her head.
"I love you too Sweet Pea" Avery says.
"Me and Nae were thinking we could come along with you to school?" Sweet Pea suggests.
"I would love that, your both ready so let's head to school" Avery says, Sweet Pea smiles and picks up Renee and they all walk to the truck and drive to Riverdale High.
"Alright everyone, today we are learning about riot night 9 years ago." Avery says sitting on her desk, someone raises their hand.
"Yes Emily?" Avery asks.
"Didn't someone hurt you in Riot Night?" Emily asks Avery nods, the door opens and Betty walks in.
"Avery a word please?" Betty asks.
