It seemed things were getting weirder and weirder with each passing day this summer. No, that wasn't entirely right, not after what had happened when they were younger in school, but that Mr. Diggory person said that it was just a freak weather incident. Though, as much as Harry wanted to believe him, he knew there was something more going under the surface and the incident at the zoo solidified that notion. Today further confirmed it when he was getting the mail and he came back to the table with an old envelope that looked like something from the renaissance era. He was not expecting his aunt and uncle to look as though they've seen a ghost from it; they were familiar with the wax seal and without warning Petunia took it from him and told the two boys to stay put while she and Vernon went somewhere.
Harry and Dudley found that weird, but they usually shrugged it off and went to watch movies they weren't allowed to. However, today was different. They just looked at each other and nodded to the cupboard where they'd had made a small fort for themselves, even hanging their old 'No Adults' sign outside so they could talk about it. Of course with their current age and size, their old hang out spot was a tight fit. The two sat across from each other and moved some things around; Dudley had grabbed an old sand bucket before flipping it upside down and tapping on it a few times, causing Harry to tilt his head and snap his fingers. It was a repeated thing; taps on the bucket and snaps of the fingers.
{Underground information?}
{Most likely}
{Think they'll talk to us about it?}
{Probably not}It took some time before they came with patterns and whatnot that they could understand; the moment they learned morse code from their summer scouts days was the moment they'd come with their own coded wording. It helped them to get away with 'note passing' in classes, and the best part was that it drove their aunt up a wall whenever she showed up.
"Harry, Dudley." Vernon's voice called from the front door, it looked like they were back from their 'underground meeting'. "When you two are able to, come to the kitchen. It's important."
The two looked at each other and went to using arm gestures to avoid their morse code taps; arm sway, making an x, folding hands and finally the two snaps with the head tilt.
{Is this about the snake incident at the zoo?}
{I hope not! How do you even explain that!}
{Maybe if we pretend we're asleep we can avoid this talk}
{Won't work, Aunt Petunia has this insane lie detector ability. Let's just rip the bandage off}Having come to an agreement, Harry and Dudley gave each other a nod before stepping out of their fort and heading to the kitchen. When they entered, they saw Petunia and Vernon sitting at the table, looking uncharacteristically serious, along with that same letter from before sitting on the table. The two boys sent each other a look before slowly sitting down. Maybe it wasn't about the snake incident at the zoo, but about the letter instead. Looking at each other for a second in their silent conversation, Harry picked up the envelope that was addressed to him and opened it to read the contents of it;
