If you ever needed a pumpkin for the holidays, it was always best to ask the Groundskeeper, Rubeus Hagrid. At least, that's what a lot of teachers and some of the older students had said, and Chrys was going to take their word for it. From writing to his parents, he had found some things would get to him faster than others; such as the case of the broom that should've been here yesterday, honestly, Chrys was really starting to agree with his mother about a lot of things when it came to the wizarding world – they seriously needed to stop relying on owls for mail! At least he was able to get a pumpkin carving kit that he was excited to put to good use and in return he did thank her and also asked for a weekly box of peanut butter cookies.

Clearing his mind, he approached the hut that was near the Forbidden Forest. It didn't really look like much from the outside, but that was okay in his book; sometimes simplicity was always the best in these cases, he made his way up the steps and knocked on the door before backing off to give the man enough door opening space – assuming it was the kind of door that pushed outward.

"'Ello Chrys, what brings ye around here this time?" Hagrid smiled and held the door open for him. "I got tea on the stove."

Chrys sniffed the air a few times and hummed with a nod. "Apple cinnamon with lemon?" he guessed, "Sure, why not." He smiled and walked into the hut before sitting across from him. "And as for my visit today, I was hoping to ask you for a pumpkin for the holidays?"

"Gettin' ready for the Halloween spirit are ya?" Hagrid chuckled.

"It's hard not to." Chrys smiled as he took the cup in front of him. "I was born on Halloween itself."

"Ye know what they say 'bout witches and wizards born on that day?" Hagrid asked with a light smile. "They say a wizard born on Halloween are destined to be a knight or king, course they also say that they're in tune with both Light and Dark magic."

"So I've been told." Chrys set the cup down with a soft sigh. "My favorite blend of the morning, thank you again Hagrid."

"Anytime, Chrys." He got up and led Chrys out of the hut. "Well, come along then, let's get yer pumpkin for the festivities."

The two made their way to the pumpkin patches and upon seeing the plethora of pumpkins, Chrys now understood why the teachers had said to talk to Hagrid about obtaining one for Jack-o-Lantern making. The two walked around the pumpkin patch and looked them over, some were pretty huge, big enough for a student to hide out in them – this would be a good place for hide and seek if one were ready to trespass.

After looking for a good one, they came upon a good medium sized one – well, medium in Hagrid's eyes; Chrys was having a little hard time getting a good grip on it so he could get this back to the castle's dungeons. He had to move it a few times before he was able to see a new face show up; the familiar pale girl with rainbow tipped hair and vivid blue eyes wearing a pendant that had a light shine in the sunlight.; Akari.

"Oh hey." Chrys greeted her with a smile. "Haven't seen you much except in class, how are you?"

Akari smiled lightly at him. "I'm doing well." She looked up at Hagrid, "Just here for a pumpkin myself, I find this tradition a fun one."

"No arguin' there." He led her through the field, watching her tapping a few of them. "Sometimes I think the Muggles might be onto somethin' with the way they celebrate our holidays."

A light giggle as she grabbed the biggest she could get without problems. "They are a funny bunch, but that's what makes them charming." She smiled at Chrys. "Need help with that?"

"I think I got it." Chrys assured with a smile.

It was still a struggle to constantly move it in his arms so he didn't drop it on the way to the dungeons at best. As if the stars had heard him, he didn't have to struggle much longer as coming up the ways was a familiar raven-haired girl...or she would have her normal black hair, today however her hair was bright orange with highlights of red and yellow streaks to give her an autumn appearance. Cora was skipping down the way, tapping Chrys' shoulder as she got close enough, and upon the boy turning she took the pumpkin from his arms and smiled at him. Assuring him she would carry the massive fruit to the castle for him.
