Baku was one of the most frustrating races of my life.
I qualified P15 after the car could not have been pushed any further.
And the race got my 3rd DNF of the season.
I just couldn't believe this was happening to me. Valtteri has had I think one DNF and we just can't fix my car.
I had been running in P10 and I was looking to score points back to back but then after like 25 laps Ilmari told me to retire the car on the radio and my response was not nice.
'Are you fucking kidding me? Again? Not even my grandpa's cars do this what the fuck' I said and
I was so frustrated with the team the whole sunday and the post-race conference was genuine bullshit for me.
In which I answered a little too rudely something in the lines of 'It's happened so many times this year, the team needs to change this'.
Yeah it wasn't my best moment.
Then Canada came in and everything turned around for me. I got P10 on qualifying making it my second Q3 entrance in my rookie year and finished the race in P8 bringing home double points for the team with valtteri in P7, it was truly an amazing weekend for me.
We went out at the end of the race and got drunk with the whole team before coming back to my hotel room with Charles finishing a great weekend even better.
Now we were in one of my favorite circuits since I started racing, Silverstone.
There was always just some kind of excitement around this weekend even if you weren't British. I loved it.
The only thing this weekend has in the negative side is that Nelson Piquet made a comment saying the n word about lewis and well.
My group for the press conference was Lewis, Charles, Pierre and Latifi.
This is going to be interesting.
I was looking at my phone when the interviewer started introducing us.
"Welcome everyone to the press conference ahead of the 2022 British Grand prix. From left to right we have Pierre Gasly, Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc, Nicholas Latifi and Lena Schumacher" He said and I put my phone away into my pocket.
"Lena, we'll start with you. Your best results in Formula 1 both in Monaco and in Canada P8. Just how satisfied are you with the progress that you've been making in recent races?" He asked and I turned my microphone on.
"Yeah, I've always said that the progress I've been making was quite clear and obviously we just need to convert it on Sunday's results, it was the first time we finally were able to finish, when we had a decent chance, and yeah, I was very happy obviously for the whole team. Finally, we got both cars finishing in the points. Also from my side, it was a pretty strong race, with some frustrating moments, because I got stuck in the DRS train. Maybe this luck or bad luck has been changed. And we you know, we'll keep working from now onwards and we're in a good rhythm and with a lot of potential going forward" I answered professionally and everyone nodded.
"And how much potential this weekend?" He asked and I put the mic to my phone once again.
"I obviously love coming to Silverstone. I've always felt pretty at home here. The track I really like and did well here in F2 last year. So hopefully, you know, with the knowledge, I know the circuit, it's not a new track. So maybe I can be starting another step ahead so we can be fighting, and be strong with both cars again. So we're looking forward to a good weekend or a busy weekend ahead" I answered and smiled slightly.
