Tuesday

I was with Seb the moment he pressed post on his retirement announcement. 

It was depressing, super depressing. 

He was crying, his family was here, my parents and both of my siblings too. 

I have never seen him cry as much as when he posted the video. It was the end of an era, the end of a 15 year era with 4 world championships, he had every right to be as sad as he was. 

We were in Hungary and after he posted the video we went out to eat with his kids. Everyone knows about it now. Everyone knew he was retiring. 

"Who is your replacement then Seb?" My dad asked and I froze looking down at my plate. 

"There are still a few prospects, Lena is the main one" He said and I glared at him as everyone stared at me in shock, except for the kids of course.

They never knew what was happening, I never told them. 

"Wow?" Mom said and I smiled. 

"I'm not sure about accepting yet" I said and everyone frowned at me. 

"So silly season was right" Mick said and I rolled my eyes. 

"I don't know. I never check silly season" I said and took a bite from my pasta. 

"I already talked with Lena and I do think she should accept the offer. It's very generous and Aston Martin is headed in a very good way" Seb said and I sighed. 

"Who else is up for the seat according to silly season?" I asked Mick slightly, ignoring Seb. 

"Daniel, Fernando and I think Lando" He said and I nodded slightly. 

"Fernando and Daniel are the only real ones. Lando is Mclarens Charles" Seb said and I sighed. 

"Why haven't you accepted kleine?" Dad asked and I shrugged. 

"I'm not sure yet" I said and everyone went into an uncomfortable silence.

This week was off to shit start now.

Thursday.

I was walking around the paddock next to Sebastian as they took like 2 thousand pictures of him and tried to ask him a lot of questions. 

"They have been like this all day. It's driving me crazy" He said and I snickered. 

"I can only imagine what it feels like" I said sarcastically and he smiled. 

"I love the fact that today we won't need to sit in a room and it's just a media pen" I said and he nodded. 

"Yes! The only thing I hate is I can already anticipate the questions" He said and I rolled my eyes playfully. I walked inside the media pen before Sebastian patted his back and walked to my first interview. 

"Hello Lena, top of the morning to you" The interviewer said in the most British way possible. 

"Hello" I said smiling. 

"First of all can we get your thoughts on Sebastian retiring" He said and I smiled. 

"Well of course he deserves it, one hundred percent. He's been in my life for many many years and he has brought so many important things to this sport. As sad as it is to let him go and for him to get time off I think he just deserves it and I know he will be happy" I answered shortly.
