Aziraphale was, as usual, reading in his book shop, when it began to rain.
Aziraphale does not like the rain.
He started to shake.
I can't deal with the rain or storms
He put his book away.
It reminds me of The Flood.
He crawled onto the floor.
When I couldn't- no wasn't allowed to save them....
His wings came out.
All of those poor people....
All of those poor animals.....
All dead.
He wrapped around himself.
Because of me.
He started to cry.
I couldn't save them.
He called out to someone....anyone....
I wouldn't save them.
He called out to a demon...His demon...
I didn't save them.
"Crowley....?"
They all drowned.
Footsteps...
And I heard it all...
Fast footsteps....almost desperate...
Their screams...
The bookshop door slamming....
Their cries for help...
A shout...
And I just watched...
"Aziraphale!!"
I could have saved them....
" Angel!!"
"Snap out of it angel!!"
Angel...
Snap out of it....
Angel...
Angel....
Only one person calls me that...
Angel.....
"Crowley!!!"
"Aziraphale!!"
The demon ran at the angel and immediately embraced him, with his arms and wings.
"I-I'm so sorry C-Crowley.."
"Shut up"
"Shu- um ok then...sorry"
"Shut up and tell me what happened"
"Oh I um..."
"It's ok, you can tell me. Your safe now"
"..............."
"Was it to do with the first rain?"
The angel shook his head.
"The flood?"
He nodded.
"Oh angel.."
"I-I let them all d-die"
"No, no you simply couldn't do anything, it was NOT your fault"
"B-but I could have saved them, all of them.."
"No, God could have done that if She wanted! You were are an angel of God, it is her fault not yours! You must do as she commands. And She said to...to let them die."
".............."
"Just..please don't blame yourself, ok angel?"
"..ok.."
"Right then, wine, coco or tea?"
"Are you offering me my own drinks Crowley?"
"Shut up"
"Alright then, could I have some coco please?"
"Coming right up angel."
And this is where we will leave them, together to enjoy their hot coco and potentially some alcohol...but we shall leave that up to them.
