Sick: mic
Caretaker: Aizawa
The Unyielding Hero
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~It was an unusually chilly evening at the heights of U.A. Academy. The weather seemed to have taken a toll on Present Mic, who, despite his best efforts, couldn't stifle the telltale shivers and occasional wince of discomfort. He was determined not to show weakness, especially in front of his students, but his body had other plans.
Inside the faculty room, Aizawa noticed his husband's subtle struggle, recognizing the signs all too well. Concern etched across his face, but he didn't want to embarrass Present Mic. Instead, he continued grading papers, keeping a watchful eye on him from the corner of his vision.
With each passing moment, Present Mic's condition seemed to worsen. He excused himself from the faculty meeting early, muttering something about feeling tired and needing to catch up on sleep. Aizawa decided to follow him, letting his instincts guide him to their shared home.
In their cozy apartment, Aizawa found Present Mic sprawled on the couch, wrapped in a blanket, and attempting to distract himself with a movie. However, the color drained from his face, and he couldn't hide his discomfort any longer.
"I'm fine, Shouta! Just a bit tired, that's all," Present Mic said, trying to sound cheerful despite the sweat forming on his forehead.
Aizawa knew better, having been through these moments before. He approached his sick husband with a gentle expression, crouching down to meet his eye level.
"Mic, you've got the stomach flu, don't you?" Aizawa said, his voice soft yet firm.
Present Mic hesitated for a moment, but he couldn't lie to his husband. "Okay, okay, maybe I do. But don't make a big deal out of it, alright?"
Aizawa sighed, but a small smile tugged at his lips. "I won't make a fuss, but I'll take care of you. You know that."
Reluctantly, Present Mic nodded, grateful for Aizawa's understanding. As the evening wore on, his condition deteriorated. Aizawa brewed some soothing ginger tea and coaxed him into sipping it. He helped Present Mic get settled in bed and fetched a bucket, just in case.
Throughout the night, Aizawa was there by his side, offering comfort and reassurance, even as he fought off the urge to use his quirk to heal him instantly. Instead, he let Present Mic's body fight the flu naturally while providing him with warmth and care.
Days passed, and Present Mic gradually recovered under Aizawa's watchful eye. Aizawa made sure he took his medications, rested, and stayed hydrated. Present Mic grumbled about feeling like a burden, but Aizawa assured him that taking care of each other was part of being a couple.
Eventually, Present Mic regained his energy, though he was still a bit weak. He pulled Aizawa close, gratitude shining in his eyes. "Thanks, Shouta. You're the best."
Aizawa huffed softly, trying to hide his own relief. "Don't mention it. Just don't be so stubborn next time, okay?"
Present Mic chuckled, "Yeah, yeah, I promise."
From that day on, Aizawa secretly kept an eye on his husband's health, making sure he took care of himself and didn't push too hard. They both knew that as heroes, they had to be strong, but they also knew that asking for help when needed was a sign of true strength.
And so, the unyielding hero, Present Mic, learned that sometimes the strongest thing one could do was to let someone else take care of them, especially when that someone was the person they loved most in the world.
