4 1/2 Years Ago
Clouds seemed to float by in slow motion. Almost covering the grey and melancholy sky completely. The teasing sounds of thunder rolled above his head and he could smell the rain in the air but he didn't deter from his plan. It was now or never.
It was almost 7:30, he could see Shannon and Alexis at the dinner table. They looked happy and he was disgusted by it. Shannon had a smile plastered on her face and if only filled him more hatred. More anger. The fact that someone so evil could smile like they were an Angel....he couldn't wait until she drew her last breaths.
Last week when he uttered those words to her, she didn't take him seriously. She knew she had Syre on a leash and he wasn't going to do anything. But Syre meant it. He meant what he said and he was finally going to see it through.
"One day...ima kill you."
Laughing in his face, she reached her hands out and shoved him into the wall roughly.
"You're 24 and alone. All you got is me, I'm the one who takes care of your ungrateful ass. You sleep in my house and eat my food when I let you. That street shit you out doing? That's a fantasy. I'm what you stuck with, you ain't got it in you to hurt me. You're a little bitch and always have been."
"All you do is hurt me and I'm tired of it—"
"I made you a man."
"You made my life hell."
She rolled her eyes. "You think you'd be fuckin grateful Kani. I could've just gotten rid of you a long time ago."
Licking his lips, he nodded to himself as he stood in the alley, remembering that conversation clearly.
"You should've." He spoke softly, pulling his gun out from behind him. The silencer already attached, he positioned himself steadily and aimed through the window. Taking a deep breath as he eyed both of them in the house.
His eyes locked with Shannon's and he blinked repeatedly. Suddenly worried if he could do it...
She eyed him in the darkness outside, seeing the cool metal reflect in the moonlight. Her lips curved in a smirk and she squinted at him. Nodding her head slightly, daring him to pull through. Knowing he would fail.
"Pussy." She mouthed.
Overwhelmed, Syre lowered his gun and inhaled deeply. Their eyes still in a lock as she seemed to chuckle at his weak will.
She glanced down at Alexis, making sure she wasn't paying attention before looking back outside. Mouthing another taunt to her son outside.
"Pathetic."
