4 weeks/1 month later"Thanks for taking me to my appointment Chi. I feel like Syre is still in a mood with me."
He was also at work, but I was more concerned with him being upset about me being secretive with the whole Travis situation.
As we stopped at the red light, ChiChi shook her head at me with a soft sigh. "He's not in a mood with you. He's just upset about Travis threatening you. He wants more than anything to protect you."
"I should've told him right away. As soon as ai got those messages."
"Maybe. Maybe not...what was he going to do when you guys were thousands of miles away? Trust me Sib, he's not mad at you. Okay?"
I sighed, but have her a soft nod.
Since we got back, things had gone from sc arey to terrifying. Travis started sending flowers to the salon. I was no longer there because I had taken Maternity leave. So ChiChi had been intercepting them and tossing them straight in the garbage, but I was worried they would start showing up other places.
Like our house. I didn't know how I would be able to sleep at night if he knew where I lived. Shit, I didn't know if he already knew. Syre did exactly what he said he would and changed my phone number, but I was still getting messages on social media.
Honestly, it was stressing me out and I was worried it would affect me and my son.
"Things will turn out the way they are supposed to, and you will never have to deal with that man again."
"I don't want Syre to do anything that will get him....what if he gets caught and then I'm raising our son by myself—"
"Hey...hey...you know your man. Only thing he got pinched for was doing in his mama...."
I snapped my head in her direction, trying not to laugh. "Be serious."
"What!? I'm not wrong. Syre got so many bodies, you know exactly who your baby daddy is and he's not about to get caught up over Travis."
I sunk into the passenger seat and sighed. "I just don't want him going back to that. He got out for us."
"He got out of pushing dope. That doesn't mean he's out of poppin a nigga cap for not knowing their place. This may be negative as fuck to say, but Travis deserves to die." She paused. "And if it's not gonna be by Syre, then shit...somebody needs to deal with his ass."
The light turned green and ChiChi pulled off gently. Unlocking my phone, I checked the time and twisted my lip. I was running a little late for my appointment but I figured a few minutes wouldn't make much the difference.
