Chapter 6

It was third period. I had a free lesson, as did Alex, which meant that I was tutoring him. I told him to meet me at the study area at third period. I walked to my locker and took out my chemistry book.

I walk over to the study area and take a seat next to Alex. I open up the book and start going through some of the stuff.

"Stop texting! You're not listening!" I say to Alex.

"I am, I am!" He replies. I take his phone from his side of the table and put it on my side. He glares at me.

"It's for your good. Now answer the questions" I say.

He picks up his pen and starts answering the questions. His phone pings, he tries to reach for his phone, as he does I slap away his hand. He narrows his eyebrows. I roll my eyes pull his phone further away from him and point at the paper. He goes back to writing.

I look up at the clock, I still had 25 minutes. I explain how to balance complicated equations, Alex points at a question that he doesn't understand, I explain what happens by pointing at it too, as I point my hand touches his. Someone sits down in the seat in front of me, I keep my hand where it is, on Alex's hand. I slowly lift my head, to see a glaring Kim.

"This is what you do when you're free? Spend your time with sluts?" Kim says.

I scoff which earns me another glare then she turns her gaze onto Alex.

"I'm working" Alex says.

"Course you are..." she says sarcastically.

He rolls his eyes, then she mumbles "...with a slut".

"You've got no right calling her a slut" Alex says.

She glares at him "Defending a slut" she scoffs.

Alex tenses slightly, "I can't be arsed with you right now, just go".

"So you can spend more time with her" she says, making the last word a bit harsh.

"Seriously Kim, what the fuck is your problem" I say glaring at her.

"You. You're my problem. This guy is dating me, but you don't seem to be leaving him the fuck alone so he can spend time with me" she says whilst glaring.

"First of all, this guy over here has a name, it's Alex. And to be completely honest, I think he'd rather spend his time with me, than his slutty girlfriend. The fact that you're a slut makes me wonder why he even got with you" I say.

"Shut the fuck up. Don't call me a slut!" She says louder than when I spoke.

"Don't call her a slut then" Alex says with a harsh tone.

"Don't you dare. Don't you dare defend this bitch over me" Kim spits.

"I just did, what can you do?" He smirks as he sits back in his seat.

I move my hand from Alex's hand to his arm, I slightly tighten my hold, so he gets the idea that he should let it go.

She glares at him, then does the same to me and says "I swear to God. If anything happens between you two whilst he's still with me, then you're going to get a slap".

I smirk at her then sarcastically say "Oooooooooo. I'm soooo scared".

She glares at me and Alex once more before she gets up and leaves.

"I'm so sorry" Alex says after Kim leaves.

"Why? You've done nothing wrong" I ask.

"Cause she started on you because of me" he answers.

"No, no, it's totally fine. Thank you for sticking up for me though" I say with a smile.

"It was the least that I could do with a girlfriend that's so high maintenance" he says with a sigh.

I know I shouldn't be asking him this question. But.. "Why did you get with her in the first place?"

He sighs and says "She seems easy and I get bored easily". I laugh.

"Why does she hate you?" he asks.

"I don't really know. She's always been that sort of person, I guess" I say with a shrug.

He gives me a small smile as the bell rings for the beginning of lunch. I give his phone back as I put my stuff into my bag. He walked with me to the lockers, as I put my books inside.

Brooke comes over, "I'm going to Julian's for lunch, sorry" I say that it's fine and hug her.

I close my locker then turn to my right to face Alex, he was texting, he looked up and gave me a smile of attempted innocence.

Which I laughed at, "My Mum is going to pick me up, and seeing as you are coming to mine, you can come with if you want?" he asks.

"Ermm.. I dunno, I'll get back to you on that one before last period?" I reply.

He pulls out a bit of paper with some numbers on from his pocket and gives it to me, whilst saying "Ok, here's my number". I nod, and smile.

All of a sudden I feel a pain up my left side, as if I'd been pushed. I turn to see one of Kim's minions glaring at me. I had bashed into the locker, I stand up straight and brush off my left arm. Alex worries and asked if I was okay after sucking his teeth at the minion. I said I was fine, before my friends came, I hugged them both, and told Alex that I was going as one of his friends approached him. He nodded at me.

"Oh my God! The bitch!" Teddy shouts.

"I swear I'll rip her hair out for you!" Robin says.

I told them both about what happened with Kim and Alex. We were at my house for lunch.

"I am loving the moral support, but it's totally fine. She can't do fuck all to me" I say with a smile.

We walk towards the newsagents, Robin wanted jellies. So me and Teddy stood outside, whilst the weather was giving us light rain.

"Oh, I nearly forgot" Teddy says as she rummages through her bag. She pulls a pair of folded up jeans.

"Your jeans." She says as she hands them to me, I had let her borrow a pair of my black skinny jeans a few days ago. I don't really remember why she needed them, but I was happy to lend them to her. I put the jeans into my bag and pull out my phone, I quickly text Mum.

'I'm going to Alex's house from sixth form, his Mum is going to pick us up. Love you xx'

She replied with understanding. Me and Mum are really close, I trust her with everything, and I love her endlessly as I do for Dad and Ryan.
