Chapter 8
I look up at the clock in the kitchen. It was 5:55.
"Do you get it?" I ask Alex.
"Yeah" He replies.
"Can I go now?" I ask.
"The doors are locked! You will never escape!" Alex says with a mastermind voice and an evil laugh.
I laugh at him as I close the books up and put them into my bag. I get up from my chair, Alex follows. I pull my bag onto my shoulder.
"My Mum is out, so she won't be able to drop you off. I'll walk you to yours?" He asks.
"I'm capable of walking home, it's fine." I say.
He walks out of the kitchen for a moment and comes back with my umbrella in his hand. He hands it to me, then walks down the corridor to the front door. He opens it up. Rain. Alex turns towards me and smirks. I was wearing his retro styled jumper with a pair of skinny jeans and the heels that was matching my outfit before the typical British weather. I smiled at Alex as I opened my umbrella and stepped out into the rain. I walk forward in Alex's front garden. I heard the door shut behind me as I got to the gate, I open it, step down onto the wet pavement and turn to shut the gate, but get surprised at the person in front of me. Alex was standing on the other side of the closed gate. He opened the gate again, took hold of my umbrella and handed me a dark blue jacket. He was still wearing the plain white t-shirt and red joggers from earlier, but had put on a grey zip up hoodie and a pair of black Adidas hi-tops as well.
"You don't have to walk me" I say.
"It's fine. Put my jacket on. I don't want my tutor to be covering me in snots next lesson." He says whilst laughing.
I giggle as I raise my eyebrows at him, I slip into his jacket. I take the umbrella from him and start walking, he quickly follows behind me and walks side by side to me.
"Sooo" he says, pulling the word.
"Weather's nice" I say with a smirk whilst turning the corner at the end of his street.
He laughs then says "I agree, such a wonderful day".
I smirk at him. "Why are you walking me?"
"Cause I'm nice?" he says more as a question.
"Course you are" I say sarcastically as I turn the corner.
"I am!" He says in a tone to try and make me believe him.
I laugh at his childish manner as I walk up my street.
"Kim will rip my hair out if she finds out that I wore your jumper as well as two jackets and that you walked me home" I say in a breath.
He laughs at me and says "She will." We get to the gate on my front garden. I open it up and walk into my front garden, Alex follows. We both quickly walk to by front door as I rummage through my bag for keys. I unlock the door then I push the handle to walk into my warm home out of the cold surroundings I was standing in moments ago.
"Aren't you going to invite me in?" Alex asks whilst standing on the welcome mat in front of me. He had his hands in the pocket of the hoodie, with the hood up and his dishevelled hair coming out.
