Four Witch Sisters in Training
Chapter 15
The burning smell of fire erupted throughout the house as the fight went on. Colleen lay motionless on the far corner of the kitchen floor. Dream’s arm was broken, but she kept going nonetheless, and I was unharmed, but I knew Be and Clover would be aiming all their powers at me soon.
“One down, two to go,” I heard Be say to Clover, but the sound of the fire burning down the house was too loud for Clover to hear.
Like Colleen, Clover layed on the ground, whimpering in pain after Colleen and her shot their most power fullest spells at each other. Dream looked once more at me, and then slowly fell to the ground, crying in pain. I turned to look at Be, knowing that it was just us left.
“You don’t want to kill us,” I said staring at Be, waiting for her to attack. “You wouldn’t waste time recruiting people for the army if you were just going to come here and attack us.”
Be wiped off blood on her lip, glaring at me with so much hatred. “You know why I’m here, $tarr. You know I want to make you suffer before you die, even if that means killing a sister or two along the way.”
“Why just me?” I ask, trying to stand straight, looking bold and fearless. “Colleen’s a special witch too, you do know that right? Wouldn’t you want one of us instead of a weak witch like Clover?”
Be smiled at me, her wicked smile. “You don’t get it, do you, $tarr? You and Colleen are pure witches, so nice and loving. You’d never turn to the dark side, even if I begged you to, your parents made sure you two were blessed more than the rest of us. They loved you two best.”
“They wanted to protect Dream and Clover just as much,” I said hastily, anger surging through me more than I ever expected. “Just because they didn’t care about what happened to you, doesn’t mean they didn’t care about the rest of us.”
Be grimaced, then without even a second thought about what she was doing, she shot a fast black ball of magic at me. I barely had time to react. I leaned backwards as far as I could, like they do in the movies, the black ball inches away from my face.
“Oh, so now you think you’re all that,” Be said shrilly. “Let’s put your knowledge to the test, shall we? Avala pedasta!”
I got back up just in time to see one of her spells, a big cloud of blackness, surround me in utter darkness. I looked around; moving my hands in front of me to move away the blackness even though I knew it wouldn’t do any good.
I heard coughing, and then I felt wind blowing around me, making the black cloud of darkness move from me to where Be was standing. I glanced over at Colleen and saw her moving her hands toward Be, controlling the wind steadily.
“Thanks,” I said panting a little. I leaned over to where Dream was sitting, grabbing her broken arm gently. “Healio Concealio.”
Dream looked surprised as her arm moved slightly, healing itself. She moved it gently just in case the spell didn’t work, but to her surprise, it healed itself quickly. “Why don’t we just use that every time we get hurt? We would never die.”
I sat up, ignoring Dream. I’ll talk to her about it later, because right now Be is going to get very angry and I’m going to need her to concentrate on hitting her as hard as she can.
The black cloud of darkness disappeared. Be looks slightly shaken up, but she quickly covered it up by throwing more black power balls at us. Dream drew out her wand and threw a wave of water at them, slamming water and Be’s black power balls into Clover and Be.
