Emily and Alison are in the car driving to a restaurant.

Alison: I didn't know that you could drive! How come you don't have a car?

Emily: I have to wait until my birthday. Which sucks because Caroline got her first car when she was fifteen.

Alison: This car?

Emily: No, another car. She was in a car accident and the car was really messed up.

Alison: How did it happen?

Emily slows down as the traffic light turns from yellow to red.

Emily: A drunk driver hit her car when she was on her way home from soccer practice. She was thrown from the car and she broke her arm and her knee was also shattered.

Alison: Oh my god. That's horrible. I'm guessing the injury to her knee ended her Soccer career?

Emily: Yup. She was devastated.

The light turns green and Emily starts driving.

Alison: I was too when I sprained my ankle. I was so scared to cheerlead again so I just gave it up.

Emily: Well, I think you should cheerlead again. It'll be good for you.

Alison raises an eyebrow at Emily.

Alison: I just told you, i'm not cheerleading ever again.

Emily: Why?

Emily pulls into a parking lot. They sit in the car for a while. Emily turns to face Alison.

Alison: Because i'm scared to get injured.

Emily: Did you like cheerleading?

Alison: Yeah, I loved it.

Emily: Then don't let fear stop you from doing something you love. Would it make you feel better if I told you I knew someone on the squad?

Alison: Not really plus tryouts won't be until August. That's six months from now.

Emily: Well, the team is actually short a few girls and they could use some extra people! Tomorrow is the last day to try out. I think you should go.

Alison stares at Emily smiling. A warm feeling overcame her.

Alison: Fine, I'll try out! Which means if I make the squad, I'll be cheering at all of your games.

Emily: Yay!

Emily closes her light brown eyes and leans in, kissing Alison on the lips softly.

Alison: Now lets go eat!

Emily: I have a question.

They get out of the car and walks towards the restaurant.

Emily: Were you one of those really mean cheerleaders who ran their school and thought they were better than everyone?

Alison: No, I wasn't mean. I just had a really nasty mouth. And a bad temper. Most of the cheerleaders hated me.

Emily: Okay, so you are kind of a cliché. You know, blonde hair, pretty face and on top of that, a former cheerleader. They're always super mean and bitchy in movies. But you're kind and friendly, which doesn't make you a cliché. You don't really see friendly cheerleaders in movies!

Alison: You're a jock but your not exactly a cliché.

Emily: How so?

Alison: Well, most jocks are considered to be football or basketball players. You're a swimmer. You don't see that in movies often. However, you're still an athlete! Which automatically makes you a jock but not a clichéd one.
