"Should I choose a noble occupation?
If I did I'd only show up late and sick."

Y/N's POV:

I had fallen into a state of relaxation not too long after I had opted on spending the rest of today alone.

It was relaxing, for the most part, until a knock sounded at the door.

Tiredly, I sat up, my arms still propped up behind me.

"Come in." I called firmly to whoever it was. I just hoped it was one of the few people I was already acquainted with, albeit my actual classmates. Still know virtually nothing about them, nor do I really like them.

The door opened slightly, making way for a wide eyed sorcerer to show himself. With a happy, toothy grin, Haibara slid into the room and stood by the door.

"Yu? How can I help you?" I sat up properly, giving the boy my full attention.

"Oh, it's nothing much! I just wanted to talk. Hope I'm not being too annoying yet!" He was still grinning as he spoke. I also noticed he was still standing at the door.

My gaze softened.

"Hey, y'know you can come in? And don't worry, I think I need the company."

If it were possible for the brunette's grin to grow any wider than it already had, then it sure as hell did.

He rushed into the room, giddy at the prospect of speaking to someone. Me of all people? I never thought I'd see the day where that'd be the case...

Yu took a seat right on the floor, cross legged and with a straight back. The boy's smile never faltered.

I followed him to the ground.

"You doin' alright?" My soft smile remained firm. I liked Haibara a lot. Considering I haven't even experienced a full day, that says a lot about the kid.

"I'm great! What about you? How's your first day so far?" He seemed genuinely interested as he awaited my response.

"An interesting first day, that's undeniable. But I like it here." I refrained from mentioning Paris. Despite how much I detested the place, if Yu were to ask about it, I couldn't bring myself to turn him down at all. I'd force myself to speak about the shitty place.

"That's great! It's good that you're fitting in!"

I nodded at him.
