There is no other better pass time activity than reading, no?

There is also no other better time to kick someone's head off when they interrupt your reading session.

Feeling a tap on my shoulder, I felt pissed, suspecting Satoru's presence right behind me.

This was probably the 10th time he had annoyed me in the span of an hour, and right now would be the perfect time to commit a heinous crime.

Slamming my "Parenting 101" book back on the desk, I swivelled around, expecting to meet the pouting face of Satoru Gojo.

However, when I had noticed nothing above eye level, I raised a brow, looking down from my stool, only to be met with the sight of a frowning Megumi.

"Hey." He tugged on my shirt, causing me to almost instantly provide the boy with my undivided attention.

"Megumi? Can I help you?" I smiled, getting off the stool, and crouching in front of the boy.

Megumi seemed annoyed? Awkward? Upset? I honestly couldn't tell you.

"Here." He shoved a letter into me, and I hummed, taking in the broad range of colour and words.

"A Parent's running race?" I questioned, reading the letter again.

"They do this every year. The other kids always have people with them, but me and Tsumiki never do..." He whispered, before kicking the ground repeatedly. "You..:you don't need to if you're busy-"

"Gojo and I will be there." I cut Megumi off, causing the kid to go wide eyed.

"Megumi, Gojo and I are looking after you and Tsumiki now. I want you to feel as happy as you possibly can, and Satoru and I will do absolutely anything we can to help." I smiled, ruffling the boy's hair gently.

"Sure." The boy bluntly remarked, raising his arms as to be held: I picked him up into the air, resting him on my hip as I sat back down on the stool, a seemingly permanent smile etched on my face.

A WEEK LATER:

It had been a week since Megumi had shown me that letter, and since then, I had been nothing but prepared.

I was up at 6 making a picnic basket and the whole lot: I wanted Megumi and Tsumiki to experience the love I had been stripped of.
