"I wasted like half of my summer tryna hold on your hand."

Perhaps letting Satoru join me on the mission was a pretty bad decision...

We sat in the assistant manager's sleek black car in complete and total silence: not a single word spoken between any of us.

Unlike all the other times prior to this that I was in Satoru's presence, this was awkward.

Very awkward.

So much so that even the poor assistant manager had to spur some form of conversation.

"So...are you guys ready? Heads up, this mission is stated to require more intellect than strength, y'know." He joked awkwardly, perhaps referring to Satoru and I's famed strength.

"It's fine. I'm the smart one here anyway." I folded my arms, tilting my head to look out of the window.

Part of me was hoping to irritate Satoru, and it seems it was working judging by how tense he was now.

"N/N, dear, you know that isn't true." He spoke through gritted teeth.

I snorted.

"Remind me what you got on that IQ test again?" I asked, causing him to perk up defensively.

"That was last year! Besides, i'm way smarter now!"

"Didn't you walk into a mirror...not even glass, Satoru...a mirror." I sighed, watching through the corner of my eye as the boy kissed his teeth.

"If it's a fight you want, bring it." The male turned to face me seriously, quite literally glaring at this point.

"Oh, I can take you." I hissed back with just as much venom.

Before our argument could escalate, we were immediately interrupted by our terrified assistant manager.

"Oh, would you look at that? We're here!" He sweat-dropped, awkwardly looking between the two of us.

I simply leaned over Satoru to get a good look at our destination: a haunted house.

"A haunted house? Cliche." I whispered, getting no response from Satoru, who was probably mad at me.

I got up from over him and briefly glanced at him, noting his face being blood red.

I paid it no mind.
