THOMPSON'S POV:
I left Mary at her place and I went back home, Rosie was already asleep when I went to check on her, and my dad was nowhere in sight so I went to my room and changed into my pj's.
I was lying on my bed and I couldn't stop thinking about Mary. She's so beautiful and so kind and loving and...who am I kidding I don't deserve a girl like her. Specially after how I behaved with her all through middle school. But she makes me so happy, and I love how she loves Rosie, nobody had ever loved her as much as I love her. Not even my mom let alone my dad. I love how she's so nice to me after all I put her through. I love how her nose scrunches up when she laughs. I love how she's always singing softly to herself and thinks no one is listening to her. I love how she immediately accepted to help my sister and how she offered to take care of her. I love how she's always talking about how much she loves her family. I love how after all I put her through, she agreed to tutor me. She's wonderful.
I don't deserve her.
I sighted because it was true, I don't deserve her. I don't deserve a girl like her. I'm just a fucked up guy whose mom left, and whose dad beats up, how can someone like her ever love someone like me.
That night I couldn't sleep, which wasn't new for me but this time what was keeping me up was her. I went down to the kitchen to get a glass of water and when I was back in my room I called Mary.
The phone rang for a while and then she picked up
"Hello?" She answered. Her voice sounded so cute all sleepy.
"Hi" I replied with a chuckle. "Sorry I woke I woke you".
"It's ok" she said sleepily. "Is everything ok?"
"Yeah, everything is great. I just missed you". She chuckled at that.
"But you just saw me".
"I know but I was thinking about you and it made me miss you".
"Aww. Is that why you called me?"
"Yeah basically". I said scratching the back of my neck. She chuckled. We talked about everything and anything until we both fell a sleep, and the next day I woke up to her complaining about god knows what.
Then I heard a soft "hey" and then there was some fumbling and then when the fumbling stopped she finally said.
"Good morning".
"Good morning beautiful".
"How did you sleep?" Mary asked me.
"Good, you?"
"Well I had a very bizarre dream but other than that I had a nice slumber".We did some more talking and then we had to hung up because we had to get ready. I put on some pants and went to check on Rosie who was already awake and then we went to the kitchen where she sat on a stool while I made breakfast. I made her some pancakes and sunny-side-up eggs.
But I still couldn't get her out of my mind.
I think I might be falling in love with her.
