Chapter 24

THOMPSON'S POV
The night of the party.

I arrived at the party and immediately spotted John and so I walked over to where he was.
"Hey bro". I said as I have him a bro hug.
"What's up?" He said returning the hug. "How are things going on with Mary huh?"
"Great man, they couldn't go better to be honest with you". I said trying to hide the smile on my face.
"That's great, I'm happy for you man, but tonight it's just us alright? No more Mary talk". John said handing me over a red plastic cup with what I thought was Bacardi.

We spent the night laughing and joking around and John had brought a couple of girls with him, we were a little tipsy but I could see his intensions from a mile away.
"These are Raquelle and Rebecca. Girls say hi to my man Thompson". John said followed by a "hey" from both girls.
"One for you, one for me". My best friend said to my ear so only I could hear him.
"Nah bro, not really my type".
"Come on, if you're worried your precious little Mary will found out chill your tits, she won't".

I rolled my eyes and tried to ignore him but he wouldn't stop bothering me.
"Ok fine, hand me one of the girls". I said gesturing him to tell one of the girls to come to my side.

It's ok right? Nothing has to actually happen, I can ignore her for the rest of the night and everything was going to be just fine.

About and hour had passed since John had brought Tweedledee and Tweedledum over and I was staring to get sober from how bored I was.

Since John was so busy with Tweedledee I only told Tweedledum that I was going to get a drink, but like the clingy little girl she was she came with me. I visually rolled my eyes when she said she would come with me. I was going to kick John in the balls after tonight. I went to the kitchen where they kept all the drinks and grabbed myself a beer from a cooler which was on the floor and when I stood up straight a pair of lips crashed onto mine and kissed me roughly. Worst kiss of my life.

I pulled away as soon as I realized what was happening and when I turned around to escape this woman I was immediately paralyzed with fear because there she was, the one person whom I loved more than Rosie, the only woman that had ever stolen my heart looking heart broken. I had never seen her with so much fear in her eyes before.

How could she not, I had just told her that I loved her and now she saw me kissing another woman.

It took me a few seconds to come back to reality and started to chase her. I ran after her screaming her name.
"Mary wait". I screamed from the top of my lungs and ran as fast as I could, and then fanfuckingtastic rain fuck me.

"Mary wait please". I finally caught up to her and grabbed her arm but she shrugged it off and kept walking.

I accelerated my step so I could stand in front of her.
"Baby please listen to me". I said grabbing her arms. She tried to shrug me off but I gripped her slightly harder so she wouldn't be able to get away.
"Don't...don't call me that. Not after you were with that woman". She said closing her eyes briefly letting the tears flow breaking my heart into million of pieces.
"Mary please...it wasn't what it looked like.
"Oh but it never does". Mary said as she stopped to fight against my grasp.
"Let me guess, it was a mistake? I'm the only woman you love? You want me to please forgive you because you don't know what you would do without me?" The love of my life looked me dead in the eyes.
"Trust me Thompson, I know all of those excuses by heart. It's ok you know, kind of...I was expecting some kind of bullshit sooner or later. I was just not expecting for you to "confess" you supposedly "love me"". She left me too stunned to speak, because in that moment I realized how I had fucked up the best relationship of my life because I listened to my so called friend.
