Chapter 30

THREE MONTHS LATER

I had just gotten off the phone with Viv, she had called me to set up a double date between Noah and her, and Sean and me.

Noah asked her to be his girlfriend a couple of weeks after Sean and I started dating and since then we had talked about going on double dates and finally we settled on a time and place.

"I just got off the phone with Viv, we're going tomorrow to that new sushi restaurant we've been wanting to go". I told Sean who was currently waiting for me to go cuddle with him on the couch.
"That sounds great Angel". He said opening his arms to receive me.
"Yeah, I really thought so. I'm so excited!" I said looking up at my boyfriend.

Sean kissed me on the forehead and chuckled lightly. He grabbed my hand and softly rubbed his thumb up and down along the skin on my hand.

This had become a common thing now, just us hanging out at his or my place, or sometimes we would go out and have dinner or go to the bookstore, or sometimes we would just go to get ice cream or a coffee.

We just loved hanging out together and spending time with each other. Sometimes Rose would come along or sometimes my brother would be the one to tag along but most of the time it was just us, like right now.

"Hey Mary, hey Sean". Said my mom as she entered the house.
"Hi mom". I replied to her.
"Hello Mrs. Grey". Thompson said.
"How many times do I have to tell you? Just call me Caroline". My mom said.
"Yes, sorry Caroline, I keep forgetting". Thompson laughed lightly.
"It's ok Sean, anyway, would you like to stay for dinner?"
"Um, I really shouldn't Caroline, my little sister is waiting for me". He said scratching the back of his neck.
"Well that's ok, you can bring her here too if you'd like".
"Um, I really don't want to-".
"Oh don't be ridiculous Sean, bring your sister, you're having dinner here". Mom said in a stubborn way.
"Yes ma'am". Replied Sean.

We went to pick up Rosie a bit latter and brought her to my house where we had dinner and watched a movie.
"Thank you for dinner Mary's mom, I really loved those dinosaur nuggets you gave me". Rosie said shyly.
"No problem Rosie, anytime".
"Thank you again Mrs...I mean, Caroline".
"My pleasure Sean". Mom said with a smile.

I walked them out the door and closed it behind me, my keys in hand in case they wanted to leave me out (as a joke obviously).
"Goodnight Mary, I had such a great time". Said Rosie while I strapped her to her car seat.
"I'm glad you did sweetie".

I closed Rosie's door and went to say goodbye to Sean.
"I'll see you tomorrow then?" He asked me.
I just nodded hugging him from the back of his neck. He hugged me back and kissed the top of my head.
"I love you Angel". He whispered onto my head.
"I love you too". I replied.

I looked up and Sean kissed me for the last time tonight. We finished saying our goodbyes and they left to go to their house.

Oh how much I loved those two. I thought as I went to sleep that night.

THE NEXT DAY

Today was the day we would go to our double date and right now I was finishing curling my hair and was about to start to do my makeup when I got a text from both Sean and Viv.

Sean said that he would pick me up in fifteen minutes and Viv was asking me what was I going to wear. I told her I was going to wear jeans and a flowered shirt and my converse.

The fifteen minutes went by faster than I thought and Thompson was texting me to tell me he was outside my house ready to pick me up.

I stepped out of my house and Thompson was waiting for me leaning on the car as he now normally did when he was going to pick me up to go somewhere.
"Wow, you look more beautiful than the moon on its brightest day". Sean said taking a good look at me.
"Thank you". I said blushing kissing his cheek.
"Shall we, my beautiful girlfriend?" He asked opening the door for me.
"We shall, my handsome boyfriend".

We arrived to the restaurant at the same time Viv and Noah did. Noah and Sean didn't really know each other and Viv and I had made it our mission to make them know each other better, and we knew the precise way to do it.

"Um so Noah, how's your team doing this season? Any matches won yet?" I asked Noah after the waiter had brought us our food and had already made a lot of uncomfortable small talk.
"Well, we're short a guy since one of them quit because his girlfriend wouldn't let him play anymore".
Sean's eyes shined immediately after he heard Noah say that. Thompson really loved football but wouldn't join a team because they were all full.
"Oh I'm sorry to hear that". I said to Noah nudging Sean's knee so he would offer himself as a replacement. His dream would finally come true.
"Well, if you're short a teammate I could maybe step in?" My boyfriend said.
"You like football?" Asked Noah.
"Yeah, I love it".

3,2,1

"What do you think about the decisions Real Madrid has made about Mbappé?" A sparkle appeared on Noah's eyes at Sean's response.

"And...we lost them". I said to Viv.
"Well, now that we won't have boyfriends anymore since they will probably'll dump us for each other what should we do with our lives?" Viv said as a matter of fact. I laughed at her comment and kept eating my sushi shrugging my shoulders.
"I don't know. The good thing is that this won't be the last time it happens, the only downside is that we won't hear the end of sports and maybe the reason of stuff like this happening will be because of sports, but I guess it's fine, as long as they get along". I said.

Dinner went by and we now were having a lovely night walk Sean and I. Me clinging to Sean's arm and him slipping some kisses on my head from time to time.
"I really liked Noah, he's really nice to hang out with". Sean said as we took a turn to go back to the car.
"Yeah, he's a really nice guy".
"But not nicer than me right?" Thompson pouted.
"No my love, of course not". I said kissing him lightly.
"Good".

We were parked at our now favorite place to stargaze, we were lying down looking at the stars when Sean suddenly said.
"Look Mary, I wanted to tell you something, I really really love you and when I lost you three months ago I couldn't live with myself, I couldn't function well and I was an absolute mess without you. I know I hurt you and I couldn't live with myself because of that. I want you to know that I love you with all my heart, body and soul". We were now sitting down and Sean took out what seamed to be a ring box.

Wait is he going to...

"And before you freak out, no I'm not proposing, I know we are too young yet". Oh he knew me so well.
"It's a promise ring". He opened the box and revealed the most beautiful promise ring. "It's a promise that I will never ever hurt you again. That I will love you in this life and all other lives forever and ever. Like Shakespeare loved his wife, like Popocatépetl loved Iztaccihuatl, like Hades loved Persephone. I will always love you and protect you no matter what, that's the promise that I want to make to you with this ring". By the end of his speech I was full on crying.
I kissed him after he slipped the ring on my finger.
"I'll love you forever Sean Thompson, no matter what life does to us, I'll always love you". I said looking him in the eye kissing him with as much love as I could put into that kiss.

We continued to look at the stars. Me more in love than ever with him.
