Chapter 12

MARY'S POV

Some days had passed since the almost kiss and surprisingly Sean had started to treat me well. At school. In front of everyone. Which was...you know great.

He was finally talking to me and that made me feel good. But also it made my crush for him grow bigger, but that was ok. I could handle it.

We were currently starting our History class and the teacher had said that we were going to make a final project in pairs about a historical landmark. Naturally I looked at Valerie to confirm that we were going to work together like we always did. But then, the worst thing happened.

"Oh and by the way. I'll be making the teams".
The whole class started to complain. I looked over at Valerie and pouted. The teacher started to say who was going to work with who.
"Valerie and John, and Mary aaaand Sean".

Wait what?

"Guess you're stuck with me babe". Thompson said with a wink. Before I could even complain the teacher said that he wasn't going to make any changes or hear any complaints from anybody and strangely he was looking at me while he said that. I wonder why.

Well you know, it wasn't like it wasn't working with Thompson already you know? One more thing to work on I guess.

The teacher gave the instructions of the project and he said that we had to actually go to the landmark and take pictures and ask for information, which earned more complaints from us. Good thing that I now know how Thompson works.

Lunch break came and Valerie very kindly told Mia what had happened between me and Thompson at History class.
"Uuu are you going to finally kiss him?" Asked Mia on a joking tone.
"I mean I will, unless he pulls away again". And that earned me lots of "uuu's" from the girls. Because of course they knew about my almost-kiss with Thompson. I mean come on, they were my best friends after all.

We laughed and talked some more before we had to go back to our classrooms.

The rest of the day went by and before I knew it I was looking for Thompson so
I could get things clear on how the project was going to go.

When I finally spotted him he was talking with John on his way to his car.
I called his name and caught up with him.
"Hey Mary, you know John". John said a soft hi and surprisingly he didn't tease me after that .

Hm, well that's new. I could get used to it.

"Um Sean do you mind if talk to you about the project?".
"No problem. I'll see you later man". He said to John and with that we were left alone.
"Walk with me Gray". We started to walk and we started to talk about the project.
"So I thought we could go to this place downtown that was a very special landmark that although it's very special not many people know about it and it belonged to my family so my grandfather knew a lot about it". I said fumbling with my backpack strap".

"That sounds great M. Can I call you that?".
"Um sure. Only my closest friends do so yeah, no problem". I said with a soft smile looking at him.

My phone rang, it was my mom.
"Hey mom, what's up?"
"Hi honey, I'm not going to be able to pick you up because I have to attend a new patient that just arrived".
"Oh, don't worry mom it's ok". A frown formed on my face as I watched the floor.
I said my goodbyes to my mom and Sean had asked what had happened.
"It's just that my um my mom can't pick me up".
" I can take you if you want". He said
"Oh no, that's not necessary". I said as we approached his car.
"Hop in".
"No really it's no big deal. This happens so often I'm used to it now, I know the w-".
"Just hop in Gray". He said with a sight.
"Ok". I said before he could say anything else.

We were at a stop sign when he suddenly said
"Next time this happens tell me and I'll give you a ride". He said starting to drive again.
"Oh no, there's no need I can-".
"It wasn't an invitation".
"Ok, well thank you...I guess".
"Plus, this way we can have our session earlier and we can go to the landmark for the project as soon as school ends". Thompson smirked slightly.
"Um sure, we just have to see what day we are going so I can tell my parents".
"Sure. How about next Thursday?"
"Yeah that works for me".
"Thursday it is then". Sean said just as he was pulling over at my place.

"Well, thank you very much for bringing me home. I'll see you tomorrow at school yeah?". I said as I was getting out of the car.
"See ya".
"Oh and tell Rose I send my love please".
"Sure will."My new crush said as I was closing the car door.

THOMPSON'S POV

As soon as I dropped Mary off at her house I finally let out the big ass grin I had been hiding from her because I had to keep my cool and pretend I wasn't falling for her.

I was so excited for the project because it was just going to be the two of us and I was going to be able to finally kiss her.

The fact that she told me to send her love to Rose that just made me want her for myself even more.

I was so lucky to have her right now in my life. I believe it was meant to be as she said the other day.

I swear, just looking at her made my day ten thousand times brighter. She really was an Angel sent from heaven for me.
