5. conan
• • •I SAT ACROSS OF Conan and opened my book. "Hey," I greeted. I opened my mouth to ask how the rest of his classes were but I was cut off.
"Edith!" My head snapped up to see my sister storm towards me. "What did you actually say to Zabini?" Her face was red and her eyes flaming. I couldn't tell if she was red due to embarrassment or anger.
"Which Zabini?" I asked, confused. I stood, trying to keep Conan out of this conversation.
"Who do you think, E? Blaise. He just fu- he just asked me if I wanted to go out with him." I laughed even though I knew I shouldn't have. "Edith, it's not funny. Is he joking or does he just not know how to take a hint?"
"Oh, no, he's just stupid," I smirked, "I'm sure if you say that you like feet that he'll leave you alone." Pandora glared at me. "Okay, I'll take that as a 'no'. You could just start dating someone."
"You know I don't want to do that. Not after what happened with Trent." I hated Trent. I had tried multiple times to convince Pandora to break up with him but she only saw the good side of him, until he began to get violent whenever Pandora didn't want to do something. It was a very difficult relationship and it took a long time for her to get out of it. She's still recovering but doing so much better.
"I'll talk to him. He can have a serious conversation. I won't reveal anything but I'll just tell him to stop. Is that okay?" She nodded and whispered a small 'thank you' before leaving a lot calmer than she entered. I sat back down and Conan looked up.
"You okay?" I nodded and gave him a small smile. "What was that about?"
"One of my friends keeps asking my sister out. It's quite funny but it's going on for so long that I think he needs to stop," I explained.
"That was your sister? Funny, you two don't really look alike," he pointed out.
"Yeah, different dads. Anyways, what do you want to study? Do you need help with anything?" I offered even though he was probably smarter than me.
"I'm working on the potions homework."
"We had homework? On the first day? Already?" I groaned, making him laugh. "What's it about?" The whole time we spent more time talking and laughing than actually studying or doing Snape's homework.
"You're really fun to talk to," he complimented as we put out library books in the right spot.
"Thank you. I had such a great time. We should do this again sometime," I suggested.
"Yes, of course," Conan smiled back, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. The brush of his fingertips against my skin made my cheeks heat up. Feelings? Already? I panicked. We only just met, is it possible for me to already catch feelings? I felt like a first year with a stupid crush. "You okay?"
"Um... yes?" I stuttered, blushing even more than before. Next thing I know, our lips were connected. Was I really doing this? I mean, at least he had feelings too, I guess. "Oh my," I whispered, breaking apart. "Do it again, please," I begged like a little child. This kiss was cut short though.
"Snow!" Who's looking for me now? "Are you in here?" I looked at Conan with wide eyes.
"Um, I got to go. Thank you. Er- see you later. Bye." Lord, why do I have to be so embarrassing? I rushed to gather my stuff then came face to face with Mason.
"You look like you just woke up. Why are you here?" He asked.
"Studying? And sleeping?" I answered. "Why? What's happening?"
"Nothing," he shrugged," it's just that you weren't at dinner and you weren't in your dorm. It's nearly nine now." My eyes when side.
"Shit! I was supposed to meet Tanya. I promised her I'd watch 'Heathers' with her!" I said, alarmed. "Thanks," I quickly said, rushing out, leaving Mason there. I burst into my dorm, finding Tanya silently reading, listening to her music. "I'm sorry, I totally lost track of time." She looked up from her book.
"No, it's fine. We never really specified the time. I knew you'd come back eventually," she said, waving away my apology. "You ready?"
"Yeah, let me just grab my pjs," I said, chucking my stuff on the ground. I put on my pyjama pants under my skirt and unzipped the skirt before grabbing my laptop and sitting next to Tanya. Since I didn't have a physical copy of 'Heathers' I had to find it online.
We spent the rest of the night watching musicals. Tanya loved them all. The second one I had shown her was everybody's favourite, 'Hamilton'. I didn't even know when it happened, but eventually we grew tired and fell asleep, my head resting on her shoulder.
