I BEGRUDGINGLY  TOOK MY pill before heading to the kitchen to get a singular slice of bread. I was dreading going to class after more than two weeks. Seeing everybody, getting a bunch of missed assignments, and getting asked too many questions. It started a lot sooner than I expected when Hermione popped up as I walked through the corridors to the kitchen.

"Hey Edith. I hope you're okay, I haven't seen you for a while. I just wanted to ask, are you still up for Dumbledore's Army?" Oh fuck, I forgot about that.

"Listen, I love what you're doing because Umbridge is as smart as a rock and teaches like one too. I don't think I can do it anymore though," I whispered, ready to get a massive headache.

"May I ask why?"

"There's a few reasons," I mumbled. "There's just been so much shit happening in my life and it's very hard trying to balance and navigate through it all... and there's a person that I can't face right now that is also participating in this little club." I explained it all in one drawn out breath, hoping for this conversation to be over quickly.

"Oh, okay," she half-smiled. "No worries." I began to walk away but Hermione held me back for a moment. "Just so you know, we're all on your side, on each other's side. We all have one enemy. Or two if you include that pink toad." I nearly laughed but I smiled a bit and nodded instead before continuing my way to the kitchen.

"Edith!" I groaned inwardly. I didn't want to talk to anybody in the morning, no matter what it was about. I turned and saw a Hufflepuff march towards me with a smile.

"Hey, Juno," I sighed, not in the mood to talk. All I wanted was to shove a piece of toast in my mouth and call that breakfast.

"Where've you been?" She asks, nudging me with a smile which I didn't return.

"I was sick, but I'm better now," I answer, lying through my teeth. "What have you been up to?" I asked, switching the subject. Juno shrugged as she walked carelessly.

"I've been mostly working on an essay for Ancient Runes, and watching musicals. Have you watched any lately? I mean, you had a ton of time," she added.

"A bit. I was too tired to watch anything at first but I watched a few this week," I explained, not wanting to talk about myself anymore. She remained silent as a tall brunette strolled by, flashing her a smile. I watched, a smirk forming on my face, as Juno's cheeks blushed. "Who was that?" I grinned, genuinely interested.

"He's my best friend, I'm scared to tell him I like him. I mean... we've known each other since we were in diapers. He probably doesn't feel the same. But he's also the reason why I'm single. That mother fucker." If she was an emoji, she would be the blushing one with hearts surrounding it. "Anyways!" She exclaimed. "I'm getting breakfast before everything good is gone. I'll see you later?" I nodded and she turned to go to the Great Hall.
