Today's Task: Write a piece of poetry that represents the awakening of someone who suffers from Amnesia.

I couldn't open my eyesMy body, veins, every partBut the hurt didn't compare To the breakage in my heart
As I fluttered awakeMy lungs contractingTo see machines aroundMy ears flooded with beeping
I tried to lift my wristTo find it was held downNot by a central lineBut a small hand and a whole town—
Of strong emotionsOf the strongest guiltWith a small hand, a small boyCrying tears that were built
His grip tightened as he watchedHe screamed Mom! You made it!But his voice made me hideIn the comfort of my blanket
He put his palm on my chestHe asked why I was cryingHe said that it was himBut who was this him he was saying?
He had the eyes of a deerHis nose was like a buttonHe was the cutest little thingBut I didn't own him
It didn't matter, the pleadingOr the tears down his cheeksI couldn't feel how he feltUnderstand the words he speaks
I tried to look outside the roomFor his parents were surely nearAs the little boy jumpedAnd shouted Mom, I'm right here!
