The sound of Heeseung's soft footsteps echoed in the quiet room as he walked in, carrying a tray of breakfast. The familiar scent of toast and scrambled eggs wafted through the air but Sunoo didn't acknowledge it.

His face was buried deep into the pillow, his body shaking as he sobbed uncontrollably, Heeseung set the tray on the side table with care but his attention was solely on Sunoo.

Without a word, he sat down next to him, wrapping his arms around the younger one pulling him into a tight embrace. His fingers threaded through Sunoo's soft hair, his motions were gentle and soothing as though it could erase the pain he himself had caused.

“Baby.” Heeseung whispered, his voice low and barely audible as he rocked them slightly trying to calm the storm that was raging inside Sunoo. “Stop crying, please.”

Sunoo couldn't stop. His chest heaved with sobs, his tears soaking Heeseung's shirt. He clung to Heeseung's chest like a child who had lost their most cherished possession, the one thing they thought they would never lose.

His heart ached so deeply it felt like it might break in two and even in his arms, the pain wouldn't lessen. His sobs eventually quieted into sniffles, the room was filled with the soft, broken sound of his breathing mixed with the occasional hiccup.

It felt wrong-so wrong-to be comforted by the same person who had shattered him. The very arms that had held him so abusively last night that had become weapons of betrayal and yet, here he was, allowing himself to be held by Heeseung again.

No matter how much Sunco wanted to despise him, no matter how much he wanted to scream and push Heeseung away, his heart still yearned for the comfort that only Heeseung could give. It was a twisted, bitter irony.

He pulled back slowly, his eyes puffy and red, his lips trembling as he tried to regain his composure. Heeseung's arms loosened but didn't fully let go, his gaze was steady and Sunoo finally met his eyes.

There was a moment of silence-tense, heavy with words left unsaid. Sunoo's trembling hand reached out, gripping Heeseung's collar tightly, his knuckles turning white with anger and desperation.

“Why did you do this to me?” Sunoo's voice was hoarse, cracking under the weight of his emotions. His eyes brimmed with fresh tears, his chest heaved as he searched Heeseung's face for an answer that could justify the hurt he was feeling.

“I trusted you more than anyone else.” Heeseung remained silent, his expression were unreadable, almost blank. The emptiness in his gaze was like a slap to smallers already bruised heart and the grip on his collar tightened.

“You gave me the best memories of my life in this room, and yet, you managed to turn it into the worst one as well. How could you?” Sunoo's voice cracked at the end, his lower lip trembling violently as he searched for Heeseung's eyes, hoping to see even a flicker of guilt, of remorse.

But there was nothing. It was like staring into a void. his Heeseung's chest rose and fell with a deep sigh with wavering gaze.

“I was jealous and angry.” he said flatly, his voice lacking the remorse Sunoo so desperately needed to hear.

“Jealous?” Sunoo's voice rose in disbelief, his hands shaking as they clenched Heeseung's collar even tighter. “That doesn't mean you can do anything to me! We could have talked about it!” his voice broke as he pushed against Heeseung's chest, desperate to create distance, to make the older one understand the gravity of what he had done.

Sunoo paused his breaths coming in sharp gasps before he finally snapped, “You're a monster.”

That word-monster-hung heavily in the air, echoing through the silence that soon followed. It wasn't the first time Heeseung had heard that word. He'd been called a monster more times than he could count, even as a child he had heard it thousand times.
