SUNOO'S POV

As I said goodnight to my parents, my heart felt lighter than it had in a long time. The relief of mending things with them and their genuine happiness for me, left me with a sense of contentment that I hadn’t felt in a while.

The wide smile that had stretched across my face felt almost unfamiliar, but it stayed with me as I made my way to my room.

The soft click of the door behind me brought a comforting silence and I exhaled deeply. Everything was finally falling into place. I leaned against the wall for a moment, just letting it sink in—my parents were supportive, I was about to move out and I had real friends now. Friends who cared about me.

Friends.

I couldn’t help but smile again as Jungwon came to mind. He had been nothing but kind and understanding, despite the fact that I wasn’t always the most open or sociable person.

The thought of surprising him with the news that we’d be moving in together filled me with excitement. It was going to be our first time talking on the phone and I could already feel the nervous flutter in my chest.

Still, I pushed past that anxiety, grabbed my phone and dialed his number. My heart pounded lightly as the phone rang, each chime building my anticipation. It felt like forever, but after three rings, I heard his voice and I couldn’t help but smile.

"Hello, Jungwon," I greeted, trying to keep my voice steady. "What are you doing?"

"Hello, Sunoo!" Jungwon's voice was light, surprised but warm. "What a surprise. I’m just looking for an apartment and also a person with whom I can stay but there's no progress."

A chuckle escaped my lips. "Are you still worried about that?" I asked, my tone playful but understanding. I could picture him sitting in his room, his brows furrowed in frustration as he searched for options.

"Yes," he sighed dramatically, "I am still worried about that."

There was a brief pause before he added, "But what happened? Why did you call so late? Do you need any help?" His concern came through in his voice and it made me smile knowing that even late at night, he was willing to help if I needed it.

"Nothing happened," I reassured him, a hint of mischief creeping into my tone. "But what if I told you that I could solve your problem?"

There was a moment of silence on the other end before Jungwon replied, his curiosity piqued. "How? Do you know someone who wants to move out?"

I couldn’t help but grin as I teased him. "Yes." I answered simply, letting the suspense build.

"Really?" He sounded intrigued. "Who is it?"

I took a deep breath suppressing my laughter and said, "Me."

For a moment, there was nothing but silence on the line and I could almost hear his brain processing what I had just said.

Then, Jungwon's voice erupted in excitement, his usual calm demeanor replaced by pure joy. "Really? Wow, thank God! But how? You said in the cafeteria that you couldn’t move out because you live with your parents."

"I know," I admitted still smiling as I thought back to that conversation. "But when you mentioned wanting to move out, it got me thinking. I wanted to experience that too. So, after thinking about it a lot, I talked to my parents... long story short, they agreed."

"I'm so glad it's you, Sunoo!" Jungwon's voice was filled with relief. "Honestly, I was scared of moving out and sharing a place with a complete stranger. I was worried about how that would turn out... but now, knowing it’s going to be with you, I feel so much better." His voice lifted with a squeal of happiness and I couldn’t help but giggle along with him.
