SUNOO'S POV

"Wait — Heeseung hyung—"

I let out a small sigh as Heeseung Hyung kissed my forehead, his lips warm against my skin. His hand softly patting my head, each stroke calming the storm inside me. His voice was a gentle hum against my ear, whispering comforting words that I didn't knew I needed. "Don't worry about anything, Sunoo. I’ll take care of you from now on."

The way he said it made my heart clench with this inexplicable warmth. It felt safe. Like I had finally found someone who would hold me tightly, who wouldn’t let me fall. And I never wanted to lose that. Not ever. It felt right—being by his side like this. Like I belonged here.

After a minute, Heeseung hyung straightened up, a small smile tugging at his lips. "Let’s head back now, lunch is almost over." His voice had a casual ease, but the softness never left. "And remember, you can talk to me about anything, okay?"

I just nodded meeting his eyes occasionally but unable to find the words to respond. I wasn’t ready to let him know how much those words affected me yet. I didn’t want to overwhelm myself with thoughts of the future or expectations.

So, I just followed him nodding, his gaze though soft, still had a certain intensity that made me feel vulnerable yet safe.

When we arrived at the cafeteria, there were still ten minutes before our classes started. Just enough time to catch our breath. But the moment we stepped through the doors, Jungwon bolted towards me, his face full of urgency and guilt.

"Sunoo, I’m sorry!" Jungwon blurted out, his voice frantic as if he was afraid I’d be angry at him. "I just wanted to know where you were, and it was Heeseung hyung who told me to ask for your whereabouts. I told him where you were, and then he ran off! I didn’t know he was going to do that, I swear!"

For a moment, I just blinked at Jungwon’s panicked face, a small smile tugging at my lips. He looked like a puppy who had gotten into trouble. I reached out, patting his shoulder gently. "Jungwon, it's fine." I said, trying to ease his worries. "I’m not mad at you. I’m okay now."

Relief washed over Jungwon's face and I could see the tension in his shoulders relax. It made me chuckle a little inside. I hadn’t expected him to worry so much but it was kind of sweet.

Our friends, however, seemed to have picked up on something between me and Heeseung hyung. No one asked us any questions—none of those usual prying remarks about where we had disappeared to.

They just watched us, an unspoken understanding passing between them. It made me a little self-conscious. Did they know? Could they tell?

I wasn’t even sure what I felt at this point. I mean, being close to Heeseung Hyung felt nice but should I let things continue like this? I wasn’t sure yet. Maybe I should take things slow until I figured out exactly what I wanted.

Yet every time I tried to think rationally, my mind kept wandering back to the way he looked at me, the way his touch lingered just a second longer than necessary.

Jungwon, who had finally relaxed, suddenly turned his attention to Heeseung hyung.

"Hyung." he huffed crossing his arms, trying to look stern but failing miserably because of his boyish pout. "From today onwards, I’m not telling you anything. You said you wouldn’t do anything after finding out where Sunoo was, but you totally betrayed us by running off like that!"

Heeseung hyung laughed softly, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Ah, Jungwon-ah, I’m really sorry about that." He raised his hands in mock surrender and then with a small pout of his own, he added, "But I can’t promise I won’t do it again. Maybe next time I’ll give you a heads-up before I act like that, hmm?"
