Wally had just gotten back from another patrol run and he looked rough. His hair was a mess, black goo dripping from the ends, his hair was soaked in the stuff, his clothes too.
Frank turned, mouth agape at the sight.
"Jeez, what the hell happened to you?" They asked, their voiced shakey and worried.
Wally was breathing quick, jagged breathes. He had clearly been running.
Barnaby rushed over, mind racing, trying to figure out what happened.
"Woah, what happened, Walls!?" He exclaimed, clearly worried.
Wally was still trying to catch his breath when Barnaby picked him up, setting him on the counter. It took Wally another 15 minutes to gain his composer back with Howdy supplying him water, Barnaby comforting him, and Frank watching to make sure nothing went terribly wrong. After Wally gained back his composer he took one last breath and sighed heavily before speaking in a quiet wobbly voice.
"W-We need Poppy and the others.."
"What? But-" Barnaby attempted to protest before Wally shook his head, putting his small little hand up to Barnabys mouth.
"Now." He said with an unusual amount of certainty.
Barnaby, Frank, and Howdy all exchanged worried glances, Barnabys ears pinned to his head, but eventually Frank nodded and Barnaby turned back to Wally.
"Ok.." He muttered.

When everyone was in the room they were all clearly worried for Wally and why he was so urgent to get them all here.
Eventually Wally sighed, looking down.
"We need to start preparing. Now." He said, sounding firm and certain but hesitant at the same time.
Everyone was shocked.
"What?.. But- But you said that the goo wasn't even close to the Bodega yet!" Poppy said quickly.
"I'm sorry, DO YOU NOT SEE WHAT I'M COVERED IN!?" Wally blurred out, squinting his eyes, huffing a bit.
Barnaby put a hand on his shoulder and Wally covered his mouth, eyes wide.
"Poppy I.. I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to tell at you.." He mumbled.
Poppy sighed, nodding her head.
"Darling it's alright, you're upset and I understand that.. But.. what does this mean?" she asked, her wings fidgeting.
"It.. It means we have to start preparing for whatever Home is going to do. We have to start prepping our plan now if we're actually going to stop Home.." He uttered, his mind racing with different thoughts and possibilities..
"So what your saying is.. We need to prepare for battle sooner rather than later?" Frank asked hesitantly.
"That's exactly what I'm saying." Wally confirmed, nodding his head.
Julie looked hesitant.
"I know we know who's doing what, but how do we know it will actually work?" She asked softly, her voice so quiet it could be a whisper.
"We don't." Wally said bluntly.
That worried Julie and even a few of the others.
"But.." Wally continued unexpectedly, catching their attention again. He put his hand on Julie's. "Whatever happens.. We'll be ready." He said in a quiet but confident tone of voice. Julie smiled, returning Wallys grasp.
"Heck yeah we will be!!" Howdy said raising a pair of his arms in the air and pulling Frank and Eddie into a side hug with the others.
Eddie laughed while Frank desperately tried to escape his grasp.
"Get your hands off me you troglodyte!!" Frank complained, pulling at Howdys arm to no avail.
"Wallys right. If we start preparations now.. We'll definitely be ready!" Sally said excitedly.
"Well then what are we waiting for?" Barnaby said teasingly, "Let's get prepping!!"
They all shared a laugh before doing exactly that and getting straight to work.. They had a lot of work to do if they were going to get rid of Home before they took the entire neighborhood down with them..

Did I just spend an hour writing a 600 word chapter when I would have much preferred a 1000+ word chapter? Yes. Is it 1:11 on a school night? Yes. Should I be asleep right now? Also Yes. Does that matter? No. Not at all. BUT I FINALLY MANAGED TO FEED MY DAMN CHILDREN. SO EAT.
