Aradhya's POV
It was a saree, the dress he gave me, white colored one with a light brown blouse. The cut of the blouse was deep on the back, I knew one of the scars would be visible, I didn't want to hide it but I never liked revealing it too. So I just let my hair loose, to fall over my back.
I looked in the mirror and when I felt I looked okay, I left the bathroom.
I didn't wear anything else other than my nupital chain and the chura on my wrists.
A small brown bindi to match my blouse, the vermilion was over the vanity so I had to come out. And he was standing in front of the vanity, I knew he heard me coming out but he didn't turn.He was adjusting his sleeves, folding them till they reached his elbow revealing his forearm.
A white shirt with pants same as my blouse, he got us matching outfits.
The beings that stayed in my stomach got excited at the thought and started dancing.I moved towards the vanity and stood behind him, nor too far neither too close, just enough that I was visible with him in the mirror. He paused, his eyes following a path from my eyes to my feet all in the mirror and he smiled.
I went forward and just as I attempted to pick the vermilion box, he took it away.I thought he'll apply it on me like the first day but he just combed his hair, held my hand and started tk walk. " Wait. " I said and he stopped.
" What's wrong? "
" Sindoor. " I said motion towards my head and he shook his head, " Not today. "" What do you mean? "
" I'm not taking my wife on a date, I'm taking my love on a date. " He's crazy, what's the difference, I'm his wife. I can't just not wear it because he doesn't wants me to. I tried to go back but he held me, " You.. "" Don't bother, it won't look good with the saree. That is why. " Then you should've selected something that'll match, is what I wanted to say, but I couldn't, " But.. "
" No buts, we're already late. Let's go. " And he dragged me away. I didn't bother arguing further knowing it won't take me anywhere. He drove us himself, just like he does everytime when it's two of us.
We first went to a theatre, I was already dreading what he had in his mind, when he confirmed it. " Come. Let's watch a movie. "
" We're adults. " I said matter of factly, as if it was supposed to clarify my stance. I've never watched one even when I was a child, he knows it, so I don't see the meaning of watching one now." I don't think adults are forbidden from watching movies. " He just said this before leaving the car and coming to my side before opening the door.
" But.. "
" Come on. " He held my hand and all my resolve went in drain.I came out but he took a detour before going to the theatre, a restaurant, if you could call it that. Because it felt like a room, which was decorated for a dinner and that is exactly what it was.
Size of a office boardroom with a table in the middle, decorated with
Tulips, Daisy, Carnations, Forget me nots, Jasmine, Cherry Blossoms, Lilacs, Daffodils. Everything that could represent, love or beginnings it was there. I didn't see a rose.In the bunch of flowers there wasn't the one that is used mostly to represent love, he had used every other than that, there were messages on the bouquets.
I moved towards them and he stayed behind, I felt his eyes following my every move.
