Author's POV

As the screen turned black, so did the spotlight over Aradhya. The room cum hall returned to darkness engulfing her once again.

A lone tear escaped her eye and she let it flow, just one in the memory of her parents, she promised herself that it'll be the only time she'll cry in their memory, from now on it would just be happiness on her face whenever she thought of them.

" You drugged him. " She whispered, more to herself than to Adhiraj, his laugh echoed into the hall, as if he was celebrating his victory, rejoicing his actions. " Or else? Your father might've been pathetic but he wasn't so weak that he couldn't move. Tsk. "

A clang echoed in the room as if a metal had fallen and a second later, bang, the gunshot rang into the silent hall and before anyone could comprehend what happened a body fell on the floor with a thud.

It was Aradhya who fired the shot, in the direction of the sound. She might've been watching the screen but her other senses were too attuned to her surroundings. That one sound was enough to give her an idea of the position of the person standing there.

She had lowered the angle of her gun considering the fact that the person may try to pick up whatever had fallen. It was blind shot, one that could be more disastrous for her than anyone else in the room but she had taken the chance.
And as if that had detonated the silence shadowing the room, chaos erupted in a second.

Gunshots ran, blind shots because they missed. And with a loud explosion the door of the building was blown into pieces. The people who were waiting outside rushed in.

They had only managed to hear the content of the first video as after that Aradhya had covered the microphone on her bangle, thus stopping any sound from reaching out.

But just that one video was enough to rattle them, they had been quite a distance away from the location when it happened and the lack of any further sound only managed to scare them more.

The lights lit up just as they entered and Adhiraj found the place Aradhya had been at, empty.
" Find her, shoot her the second you see her. I want her whole family dead. " Adhiraj shouted his command and his men got to work.

But to his surprise, their guns weren't working, the magazines were blank and even the pistols were empty. He had just ordered this batch of armaments a day ago, after his businesses were burned down and his partners ran away after betraying him, he had to get his hands on the latest models in the market to get the deal done.

That is why he had spent ten million dollars on the black market just to get these weapons and now they weren't working.

What he didn't know was that his entire shipment, from the order he placed to the delivery he received, was all under Arihant's control. He had baited Adhiraj into buying these weapons and then supplied him with forgery, there were a few real ones in the midst so that if he wants to check then nothing goes wrong. But they too only had bullets enough for a trial. Everything was under Arihant's control, from the number of weapons in this room to the number of people. He had calculated the exact men Adhiraj could have from the order he placed on the black market and his calculations had been accurate.

There were forty men Adhiraj had brought with him and with one already down, there were thirty nine left, excluding Adhiraj.

The loss of ammunition shook Adhiraj but not enough to throw his senses out of the window. He realised that the guns weren't working so the second he saw a leeway he took it, he hid in the furthest corner of the room as he waited, waiting for an opportunity to leave. He looked around to see the men he had brought falling down one after one and as if someone had instructed them to, Arihant's men removed the body just as it fell on the ground.
