Author's POV

" You first love. " Abhimanyu said, and she stalked towards him like a predator.
" Don't be gentle on me. " She said as her hand went forward to punch him.

Cushioning the punch in his own he turned her so that her back was against his chest, " Oh nah.. All I want to be is rough. "
She elbowed him in the stomach and a groan left him but the smile was still there.

" Concentrate love, or else you might lose. '' She said as she once again chopped at his shoulder. It inevitably became a challenge and both of them knew it.
" Which game are we talking about? " His leg kicked hers the same time his words left him, neither too hard nor too gentle just enough to tell her that he wasn't going easy on her.

Her knee bent but she regained her momentum by holding his and thus pulling him. His pants provided her enough leverage to stop her fall.

Her hand went to his throat but he stopped it and flipped her, she twirled mid-air and her legs went to wrap around his from the back and before she could make another move he twisted her and their already disbalanced momentum caused them to fall.

Aradhya on her back against the floor and Abhimanyu over her. All of it happened in the span of mere two minutes, from her making the first move to ending up under him.

" You win. " Aradhya said gruffly, she hadn't expected him to be this good, she could blame it on him having a natural advantage at strength due to being a male but she knew it as well, that she had gone rusty. It had been a long time since she fought and it showed.

" Really? " He asked, noticing her demeanour, she didn't like that she lost or more precisely that she lost so soon.
If only she knew that the man fighting her had lost even before the battle started.

" Hmm.. Feeling better? " She said and only then he remembered why this had started. Getting off her he sat beside her as she got up too.
While he was still angry at Ashutosh for saying those words he knew that this wasn't the time to act on it. He'll have a chance to make that guy regret his words, but for now his wife's victory matters.

And as he noticed her efforts to make him feel better when who knows what she must've been going through, he felt ashamed. He let the anger take hold of him and forgot that she just sent her whole family to prison, she was forced to open up her wounds before a bunch of people who could care less about what had happened.

" I'm sorry. " Abhimanyu said, his hands going through his hair in frustration.

" Why? "
" I shoul-" She stopped him mid sentence by placing her finger at his mouth.
" Shh.. It's okay. Moreover I needed it more than you. " She said as she got up and patted her clothes, brushing the dust off them.

She hadn't been as forthcoming as him but she needed to let it out too. Not anger like him, but something else, something she didn't want to feel. She didn't want to admit it but a part of her, the eight year old who still had a hope till now that her parents might love her, died when her father said those words. He succeeded in killing her with just mere words.
