Author's POV
As Abhimanyu, Aradhya and Vanya made their way inside the Shergill mansion all of them had different thoughts. Vanya was apprehensive about Aradhya's reaction to what she'll find inside, Abhimanyu was hoping that what they find wouldn't break his wife's heart even more and as for Aradhya she wasn't thinking.
She came here because she wanted the truth, they got interrupted in the morning but she hadn't forgotten her motive for coming here in the morning and that was the only reason she agreed to coming now. As for anything else, she had no energy left in her to give it a thought.
Her steps came to a halt when she saw the figure standing in the living room, he wasn't the only person present there but he stole the attention away from anyone else present there.
She regained her composure too soon so that almost no one noticed it. Almost. Abhimanyu had been observing her since they left their house and he noticed the obvious halt she took when she looked up. And he knew why it happened.
The footsteps echoing in the house gained the attention of the three men present there already.
Viraj looked up to see her and heaved a sigh of relief, he was afraid that what if she refused to come here.As for the other two they were none other than, Arihant Raichand and his grandfather, Vardaan Raichand.
Vardaan looked at the people entering the house and even though he had already seen her picture, seeing her standing before him in flesh caused him to stumble.Arihant scrutinised the woman before him and the way Abhimanyu was holding her. Something snapped in him and he stepped towards them before gripping Abhimanyu's wrist that was holding Aradhya's hand.
" Leave her. " Arihant said to him in a cold tone, he was infuriated at the fact that a man dared to lay a finger on his sister. The sister he just found, the sister he had always longed for, the sister who he thought left him along with their parents.
" I won't. " Abhimanyu said, his words neither too overbearing nor too servile, his words carried just enough respect for a person he had just met and might consider making an acquaintance of.
" Step away. " Aradhya said, as her own hand pried away Arihant's from Abhimanyu's wrist.
Arihant was about to say something when Vanya shouted, " Dadu. "
He turned around to see Vardaan stumbling and Viraj went forward to help him. " Vardaan. "Arihant helped him drink a glass of water and Aradhya just stood at her place not moving an inch taking in the scene before her.
She had recognised them, how could she not, she fuckin' investigated day and night, barely resting for an hour just to find the truth, just to find them only to get betrayed by her own family." Bilkul Arjun par gayi hai. " Vardaan whispered as he looked at Aradhya, tears clouding his vision.
' She looks just like Arjun. '
