Aradhya's POV
R. S. : How much longer di?
Me: Soon.
My family managed to get 5 million for the land the government took under them by using ahaana's connections or her husband's for that matter. But it's not like it did anything to salvage their situation. The whole in their cash flow is too big to be settled by this.
And moreover their stocks fell even more when news came out. The headline was quite creative, as much as it was a prophecy.
Is this the fall of Sinha Group?
It was exaggerated but with them being in the headline for two months now, it wasn't a surprise..
I kept my phone aside and went to see mom. It was only after we came back the next day that I realized how much I worried them. Now mom almost checks on me every hour, if I'm out for some errand she'll call me. It's not as troublesome as I thought, it's quite endearing.
" Are you done with your work? " She asked me just as I entered her room. The two places where I spend time, other than my own room are hers and dadi's room.
" Yeah. What were you doing? " I asked as I sat before her.
" Watching news. What else can I do? " Her hands came to my head and she started to massage it as she does everyday.I finally understand how people find massages relaxing, I only tried it once and it left me more tired than I already was. But with her, I might be tired as hell and it'll be gone in minutes.
I closed my eyes, news playing in the background and just indulged in her hands. She took some oil from where she keeps it everyday for me, and started to apply it." Mrs. Dimple Sinha slaps her husband in public as she finds evidence of him cheating. " My eyes snapped open on the news.
They were showing the scene of her slapping him, while spouting insults at him. I never thought he could do this, his parents were at least loyal to each other, so I never suspected it.Mom changed the channel soon enough, but that too was showing him, but this time it was his pictures with his who I assume is his mistress.
Before I could look closely at who she was mom switched off the TV.
" These journalists have gone crazy, rather than showing us about national news, they are interfering in such matters. " She said and I knew she was doing this for me.I moved from my position and laid my head on her lap, " They don't bother me. " I whispered to her. Everyone here knew that we have some problems, but other than Abhimanyu no one knows everything. At first I was hesitant about saying it but now I don't want them to worry.
" That's good then. Sleep, I'll wake you up when it's time. " She said to me as she stroked my head and sleep took me in a minute.
I don't know how long I was asleep but it was when I heard some rustling that I started to wake.
" Shh." Mom shushed whoever it was.
" When did she sleep? "
" You've been like this since then. " It was my husband who was talking, I recognized him.
" Uh hn.. She would've disturbed if I moved. "
" Mom. "
" Shut up now. Don't wake her up. "I was still drowsy and not the least bit ready to leave her, but I still looked up, she was stretching her back and neck, " Mom. "
"Hm. Did he wake you up? Sorry, sleep some more, it hasn't been long. "
" Uh hm. Sleep with me. "
" Okay. " She smiled and I moved so she could lay down and then buried myself into her embrace, I looked at him who was just smiling and closing my eyes again as I felt her lulling me to sleep.
