Author's POV

It's been a month since Ashutosh Sinha was found dead. The family had been mourning and even the members in the prison were granted an outing for a few hours at his cremation.

Ahaana handled everything, from arranging the funeral to the kriya and even the mortuary feast on the thirteenth day. Meanwhile Archit had been just an empty shell participating in everything she asked him to.

The only emotion he showed was anger, at Aradhya, whenever she came to pay her respects. He refused to allow her to attend the cremation and thus she stood outside the ground for three hours.

The few times she visited their house, the two storey house Archit had of his own, she was only allowed at the periphery and she wasn't bothered by it.

The taunts refused to cease over the past month, on the contrary Archit came up with a new one almost everyday. Ahaana stopped saying anything to Aradhya when she realised that no matter what they say they'll never get a reaction out of her.

Abhimanyu had fumed when he heard Archit cursing his wife and Aradhya had barely stopped him from sending her brother to the hospital.
After that she refused to let Abhimanyu accompany her to the Sinha house, it was Devanshi who came with her every time.

Aradhya had just returned from Sinha house when she heard the sound of quarrelling in their living room.

" It's been a month. You have no right to stop me from meeting her. " Arihant said to Abhimanyu, frustration evident in his voice.

The last time he saw Aradhya was when she had gone to Shergill Mansion a month ago. After that she refused to step into that house and whenever Arihant came to meet her, she happened to be busy.

He had been patient, he knew it was difficult for her to digest everything so quickly but he was on the edge now. He was getting desperate to see her and the more he couldn't see his sister the more he feared that she might not accept them.

" I'm not stopping you. She's really not here. " Abhimanyu told him with utmost respect. While he was dissatisfied with Viraj's approach to the situation he understood Arihant's desperation too. But for him all that matters is his wife's peace.

" I've had enough of your excuses. I'm meeting her today and it's final. " Arihant said, thinking that Abhimanyu is just making an excuse to postpone his meeting with her.

Aradhya listened to the argument and as she entered she interrupted Abhimanyu.
" She's-"
" We're back. " Her words had barely left her mouth when both of their heads snapped in her direction.

" I'll be in my room. Yaad se sone aa jana. Thik hai? " Devanshi said as she planted a kiss on her forehead and left.

' Remember to come and sleep. Okay? '

Aradhya had trouble sleeping this past month, while she tried to pass it off as nothing important, everyone around her had noticed the dark patches under her eyes.
Abhimanyu had tried comforting her but to his dismay, the only time she could sleep comfortably was when she was with their mother.

He had no idea whether to be happy that his mother had such an effect on his wife or sad that his wife preferred his mother over him.

" Kaisi hai? " Arihant asked, not knowing how to start a conversation with her. He had practised for days about what he'll say to her but now when she stood before him, he couldn't find the words.
' How are you? '
