Author's POV

" Debug it once more and it should be okay. " Aradhya told him as she picked her phone and got up. Rudra followed after her, he has gone silent, who knows what happened to him.

" Okay. Thank you. " Rudra's friend said, and fumbled, Aradhya hadn't forgotten his name, just that when he introduced himself, her attention wasn't there, so she had no idea how to address the boy.
" Ummm… "

" What is it? " She asked, seeing him blushing for no apparent reason.
" Can I look for you again? I mean if I have trouble understanding something. "
She thought for a while realising that she was quite free these days she nodded.

" Just ask Rudra.. If I'm free then I'll see it. " She told him. And he nodded, " Okay. Thank you. "

" Let's go. " She turned to Rudra who seemed to be glaring at his friend.
" You go first bhabhi. I'll be there in a while. " Thinking he might've something to talk to his friend she left the cafe.

Just as she left Rudra was onto the guy, his forearm pushing against his neck as the boy was forced to strain himself and look up.
" Don't, and I mean it. Don't you dare to look at her like that, I'll gouge your eyes out if I see you looking at her once again. "

While Aradhya's attention had been on her computer, Rudra hadn't failed to notice how this guy appraised her, ogling her like he had every right to. The only reason he restrained himself was because he didn't want his bhabhi to be bothered over such inconsequential characters.

" Rudra.. I.. "
" Shut up.. Bhabhi hai vo meri, unki disrespect bardasht nhi krunga.. Samjha? " Rudra said, cutting off the man before him at the same time cutting off his oxygen.

[' She's my sister-in-law, I won't tolerate any disrespect towards her. Get it? ']

" Yeah. "
" Good. " Removing himself from him, Rudra stroked the frizz on his sleeve before saying, " There's no need to call me again. "

" But—" One glare and the boy shut up, knowing that he lost a friend, his job and almost everything for a momentary lapse of judgement.
" Ok. "

The hand that had been pushing the door of the cafe open stopped and pulled back, Aradhya had forgotten to take the car key and when she came back to get it, she happened to see her brother-in-law threatening his own friend for her.

She walked back to the parking lot and pretended as if she never left and when Rudra came to her, he wasn't the one she saw in the cafe rather he was the one she saw at home. The relaxed and carefree Rudra and she was sure that this mask was hiding a devil beneath it.

" Shit. I am so sorry bhabhi, I forgot I had the keys. " Rudra muttered as he saw her standing and hurriedly opened the car for her.
" It's okay. Let's go. "
She said as she took her seat and he got into his.

When they reached home, it was already evening, so Aradhya directly went to her room while Rudra returned to his mother's.
Devanshi was talking with Shlok when she saw him entering and just hugging, she couldn't say whether she was happy that her children were hugging her or worried cuz they would only do so if they are too stressed.

Shlok excused himself, knowing his son won't speak anything before him, and went to call Samaira, thinking girls are still better, as she chirpily told him about her day.

" What happened? " She asked, handing him a glass of water.
" I shouldn't have taken bhabhi out. " Rudra replied grumpily, thinking it's his fault for trusting his friend.

" Why? "
" That guy.. He.. "
" He did nothing Rudra. " Devanshi held his face in her hands and made him look at her.
" Huh? "

" People look wherever you go, you can't stop everyone from looking her way. '' She told him what she knew was true. People won't stop looking unless you are mediocre, and she knew her children were anything but mediocre. Society gives no attention to those it deems common.
