He said all she had to was to successfully get the scroll of sealing in the Hokage office to the outer forest without anyone knowing the one to successfully do so and as quickly as possible would get the highest marks ever. This was when she agreed to the fact that if she could fulfill the conditions it would set her marks the same as Yoriichi's marks. She had admired Yoriichi for a long, he saved her when she was nearly killed, took care of her for years, helped her train and study, protected her when no one else would, he was there for her when nobody else would even look at her, everyone only hated her other than him. He was so strong, the fact that she could just match him in any way blinded her. She didn't want to become the Hokage she just wanted to be strong like him, he was the strongest person she had ever known.
Then she finds out that she had been lied to for her entire life, the rule was created that it is forbidden to talk about the fact that she was the demon fox that attacked the village 12 years ago. That's was everyone hated her because she was the demon fox. That's why they can only look at her with hate and anger. It was the fourth Hokage that sealed the fox in her.
'Why me?' Those were her only thoughts at the time as she hid from Mizuki
"Naruko! Come out! I know you're here!!" Mizuki screamed, Naruko kept quiet
"You know Naruko everyone in the village hates you, Even Yoriichi hates you too!" Naruko froze as her eyes widen.
'Yoriichi hates me?' Such a thought entered her mind
"I found out that he isn't even from this village! I bet if he finds out that you're the demon fox he'll hate you too!!" Mizuki tried to use Yoriichi against her. He knew they had been together since even before they entered the academy, Yoriichi was like family to her.
'That's a lie, right? Yoiichi won't hate me, right?RIGHT?!' She would die if Yoriichi hated her, he was the only one who was there for her when no one else was, and he was there when she cried herself to sleep. He was by her side for long, to think he would hate her.
Naruko kept quiet as her mind went down the stairs of despair and confusion over the fact that Yoriichi would hate her.
"Hello there Mizuki" An emotionless voice filled with authority spoke Freezing Mizuki and gaining Naruko's attention. Mizuki looked behind where the voice came from only to see Yoriichi standing on a branch with the moon shining behind him.
"Oh, it's you Yoriichi! What are you doing here?" Mizuki questioned as he observed him, something was wrong with the boy he had an ominous air around him.
Yoriichi: I am looking for Naruko, What about you?
Mizuki: Yeah me too
Mizuki: Hey Yoriichi I want to tell you something about Naruko
The moment Mizuki said those words Naruko's heart stopped in dread, He won't...would he?
Yoriichi: What is it?
Mizuki: There is a secret that everyone has hidden from you, that is in fact that Naruko is the same Nine-tailed demon fox that attacked the village 12 years ago!!
Mizuki smirked in victory as Naruko felt like being punched in the stomach.
