"It's not what you think it is."Aurora tried to explain."Then what is it, leaving my sleepover to hang out with that boy, I thought you said you don't like him!"Layla yelled at her sitting on the bed, she seemed really annoyed and angry.

"I was with his brother!"Aurora yelled back.

"You know what, we will sort this out tomorrow, get some rest so your brain can operate well tomorrow," Layla said lying down on the bed and directing her whole body in the opposite direction from Aurora.

Aurora felt sour for leaving her sleepover without notifying her. She tried to close her eyes to sleep but she couldn't just drift off. After some minutes she fell asleep.

When she woke up in the morning she immediately went to her house. She knocked on the door as the morning breeze made communication with her neck. The door was opened by her brother who had an extreme bruise on his cheek."What happened to your face?"She asked but was answered by silence."Where were you?"He asked with a deep rough voice."I went over to a friend's house." She answered."Why didn't you collect your cell phone?"He asked."I don't like collecting it around." She replied staring at his bruise.

"Well, you have to learn how to."He told her before swerving for her to enter the house."Get some food in the fridge and try to prepare for school tomorrow."He declared. Aurora stared at her brother for some time before she went to the kitchen and returned with an ice pack."You still haven't told me what happened to your face."She said standing on her toe to apply it on his face.

Aiden looked hesitant to tell her first but he told the truth."I got into a fight."He told. Aurora let out little gaps before her face tightened."Why did you get into a fight, you know we just moved into this community, we don't want to make a bad family image."Aurora yelled at him.

Aiden looked at her grasping the ice pack from her hand."It is none of your business."He said rolling his eyes."You have changed since we came here."Aurora murmured loud enough for him to hear, she could see a flash of shame in his eyes as he walked away.

Aurora went to her room laying on the bed. Suddenly her phone beeped, she grabbed it from her desk as she saw a message from her childhood friend which she left behind in her former country. Her eyes got loaded with tears as she saw her friend's photograph. It has been such a long time. She respired hard as she texted her with a smiley emoji but that wasn't her countenance. She was happy for her but it made her sad to leave them behind.

That night she slept like a baby, at least someone was happy with her.

Poem

It was as dark as the night

when she returned from the trip,

She thought everything was gonna be fine

but she ended up crying while going to sleep.
