I'm not dead, just slacking. 😶

The ginger head smiled brightly in delight, while the aqua head gave those small, appreciative smile that nobles usually have.

"Thanks, f/n! You're helping us a lot! We owe you one!" The ginger haired of the two cheered, while following you like a puppy that isn't really lost.

Sighing quietly and mentally facepalming yourself, you quickly walked away from them, towards where the championship would be held.

Of course, the two men (unfortunately) had long legs, and could easily catch up to you. It didn't really help that Thoma was trying converse with you, not realizing the tense atmosphere that you had created.

"So, Y/N! I heard from the residents nearby that you were chosen as one of the competitors? That's so cool! I heard only one person from each class is chosen to compete. I'll be sure to root for you in the game!"

"Haha, thanks. So, why did you come to Sumeru? Is it because of the Interdarshan championship?"

"Yes, well, that is part of the reason why. However, I'm afraid that I won't be able to give you the whole reason. It's confidential, I'm afraid. Ah, now that I think about it, aren't you part of the Akademiya if you were chosen? Only people of the akademiya are able to compete, if I remember the rules carefully."

"Oh. So about that. Graduates of the akademiya and also people who quit, like me, are able to also join for some reason. Cyno and Tighnari are also graduates, so they were able to join the championship."

"Interesting! But what if you get chosen but you don't want to compete?"

"Uh... I think you can deny the request..? I'm not entirely sure, but not many people do that, because of the awards that you can win, and of course, the peer pressure from your colleagues and people you know."

Ayato stayed silent for a moment, then asked, "if you don't mind, could I ask whether you chose to compete because of peer pressure, or because you wanted to? I'm genuinely curious."

"It's mostly peer pressure from people I know. They're a big fan of these events, and let's just say they were too excited about the probability of me joining, and didn't let me refuse."

"Ah, how unfortunate. I understand that, as the clan lord. I have to do things that I do not want to, for the sake of my people. However, since this is merely a fun event and not necessary, you should have refused if you didn't want to. I had a friend when I was younger, who could say no and yes easily, without the influence of the outer world. I had respected her. Although, now that I think about it, giving you this advice is quite a bad timing, as you can't refuse now." Ayato, replies, while chuckling, probably at the memory of his friend that he remembered.

"Haha, yeah, I guess. Anyways, here we are. Welcome to where the first part of the interdarshan championship will be held."

In front of you three were a big crowd of people, all talking and yelling about who would win. There stood a medium height teenager with snowy hair apart of the crowd, looking at stage with a smile on her face.
