[Chapter 5]

"Leave," I repeated, my voice firm and unwavering. But the overgrown man before me didn't budge. My patience was running thin, and I was ready to explode.

"I am not leaving you. I'm back, and you will be mine," the pompous bastard growled, moving closer. As he stepped closer, our bodies almost touched. I could feel his warmth-his presence, and it was both familiar and maddening.

"Sure," I drawled sarcastically, "when the hell freezes over."

His lips curled up into a smug grin. "You know, in Norway, there's a town named hell that freezes in winter. So, I guess the hell will freeze in a week."

I rolled my eyes at his ridiculous remark. "Shut your mouth, smart ass."

He seemed amused by my annoyance. "So you agree I'm smart."

"Shut up!" I snapped, my frustration bubbling over.

This man infuriated me to no end.

He obediently shut his mouth, making me look like a tyrant. Calm down, Daisy. Calm the fuck down.

My frustration was reaching its peak, and I could feel the anger bubbling inside me like a pot about to boil over. I clenched my fists to control my emotions, but it was impossible.

I am not angry. I am not angry.

"You do like you are angry," he whispered.

"I am NOT angry," I yelled at him.

"Okay," he replied, his voice skittish.

"Umm, is it the wrong time to make my presence known," I turned around to see Travis was here with a wine bottle in his hand, and the other carried a bag filled with warm food.

Alexander's reaction was immediate and primal. His head snapped in Travis's direction, his eyes narrowing. His jaw clenched tightly, and I could see the pulsing throb of a vein in his temple.

His fingers curled into a tight fist, and I could see the muscles in his hand tensing with restraint. His skin reddened with the force of his grip.

With a low, almost animalistic rumble, he pulled me closer to him, his other hand settling firmly on my waist. His hand stayed on my waist, not squeezing tightly, but the firmness of his touch sent a clear message-he wasn't willing to let anyone come between us.

"What is going on?" Travis's eyes bulged as he registered the man with the height of Burj khalifa as our new boss, his eyes traveling to the veiny hands that lay on my waist possessively.

"Why is he here?" the deep baritone voice whispered beside my ear, his stubble brushing against my cheek, leaving it with a faint flush. His voice filled with something dark, something on the edge of insanity that I never saw in his past version.

What happened over these years?

Who is the man in front of me?

How did he become a billionaire from a mechanic?

"I called him here." My voice was stable. Thank god for not stuttering.

His eyes stared into mine. I could feel my legs turning weak, his blue eyes seemed to have darkened into the shade of a tsunami, and I could sense the storm of emotions raging inside him.

I could feel his entire body shaking, his grip on my waist loosening as he moved towards Travis.

Oh fuck.

I moved faster, stepping between Alexander and Travis, my hand pressed firmly against Alexander's chest, trying to hold him back. "I dare you," I said, my voice cold and steady, though inside my heart was pounding.
